View Full Version : Well, I'm gonna need baby names... again...

June 26th, 2004.
That's my due date according to multiple online pregancy calendars. I suspect you guys will have a pool going though as it gets closer, LOL.
I'm 7 weeks pregnant!

I think this time I'll have a sonogram to tell the baby's sex - we didn't last time and it drove my parents absolutely NUTS. Since it's been 5 years since I did the whole pain-in-the-ass doctor thing (last pregnancy I just took care of myself and didn't see a doctor), I can't even remember what week the sexing sonogram usually takes place. There's been lots of little ones popping up around here lately - when did you guys/gals find out your baby's sex?

Bring on the weight gain... ughhhhhh... the boobs have already started expanding and have gotten noticably heavier.
Thank god I don't get morning sickness.

Bite your tongue, Nick!

Congratulation Carrie and Hubby! I think you jinxed yourself last week, when you said you wanted to stop at two. Look at this way, maybe you will get a chance to have that girl finally. They are so much fun!

Don't envy you on the pregnancy, though. The labor part is a breeze, but I could do without the nine months of swollen ankles and the "glow."

The 5th month is when I found out the sex. No idea what week that is, but I hope that helps. And congrats! Any woman that can do pregnancy more than once and with out a doc to boot is a superwoman in my eyes. :wnw:

My God, Carrie! You are full of surprises. I can't imagine having one child, let alone three or four. Take care of yourself, and congratulations. :bdance: :cdance: :bjump: :okthumb:

I was under the impression that you were happy with just two children, and your plan was to spend more time on porn business. Care to share with us what changed your mind?

Thanks Confucy!
Well it wasn't planned but we've been kinda toying with the idea... more trying to talk ourselves out of it than anything else. Mike has always wanted a little girl, so like Darci said maybe we'll get her this time around.

The tubes are DEFINITELY getting tied after this one!
Gawdddd...... more diapers...... :headwall:

I think you can tell the baby’s sex from about 18 weeks… I went for a scan at 20 weeks and the midwife cow would not tell me

I only have 16 weeks to go and I feel like a big fat elephant :(

CONGRATS Carrie! What wonderful news! :rokk:

We said we'd keep trying after our son until we had a girl. We lucked out and our daughter was #2 - the tubes got tied there. lol

The December issue of Parents magazine has a section that lists the most popular names of 1900, 1950 and 2002. Interesting list... a lot of new "fad names" I expected - but some I hadn't realized. My kids have "regular" names - Christopher & Danielle - I didn't get creative. lol

Anyway - June 26th is a decent day... just go a day early though - my b-day is June 25th. I always loved that it was exactly 1/2 a year away from Christmas. Presents every 6 months like clockwork! :okthumb:

CONGRATS!!!!

Wow congrats Carrie! I want to know the sex of this one too, but it's inconclusive on the ultrasounds. The silly little thing moves too damn much for them to tell hehe but so far they are thinking boy. I am too, but that's just a gut feeling. At least it's not all new to you now.. That's what freaked me out with my first baby, not knowing what to do sometimes :)

They're 5 and 3, same height give or take an inch and the younger one weighs a pound more than the older one! He's a little tank. We keep saying Kelsey (the oldest) is going to be the quarterback and Brendon (the youngest) is going to be his linebacker :awinky:

(I'm so helpful :P )
The origins of the "rabbit test" lie with the discovery in the 1920s that a woman starts producing a hormone known as human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) shortly after a fertilized egg implants itself in the uterine wall. (It was later discovered that the presence of hCG causes the placenta to produce progesterone after implantation, necessary to prevent rejection of the developing embryo.) In 1927, medical researchers found that not only is hCG present in the urine of pregnant women, but that female rabbits injected with urine containing hCG would, within a few days, display distinct ovarian changes. Thus the "rabbit test" was born, and with it the misconception that the rabbit's death was an indicator of a positive result. In those early tests, the rabbit always died, because the animal had to be killed before its ovaries could be examined. Later refinements to the test enabled clinicians to inspect the ovaries without having to kill the rabbits first, but as the example cited above demonstrates, the misconception that the test rabbit died only if the woman was pregnant is still with us today, even though the "rabbit test" itself is not.

Carrie, congrats!

Peaches, very interesting! Aways wondered about that.

But I think the writer could have found a better word than "misconception" to use in the article.

Lisa

Wow, thanks Peaches. You are a helpful little duck aren't you? :)

Sabby my eldest is a girl, the other two are boys and quite frankly I'd rather have the boys...lol. (Don't tell Alex I said that tho!)

They're just easier to handle somehow...hard to explain really. I love my daughter to death but on a purely pragmatic level...the boys are easier. :)
