Hey All, I was just sitting here reading the board and doing some work. I know all of you are multi-tasking monsters who can keep 30 windows open and 4 apps running at all times, but I kinda go at a slower pace. Mail and 1 window is about my limit per machine.
But right now I am also encoding a vid for my new boss on another machine and all I have to do to check the progress it hit my [ScrLK] button twice and voila! I am on my other machine.
So, what I was wondering is, does anyone else uses handy little time/resource savers like this to help organize your work/network? I can have one machine absolutely bogged down doing one thing, and a completely free machine doing another. And only have 1 mouse, keyboard, and monitor for as many computers as I need.
I LOVE IT

oh and for the record, sexed is a dick.

I have a few KVMs kicking around. In the old days, I would broadcast videos to ifriends from a rack of a dozen p100's. The kvms allowed me to share 1 monitor/mouse/keyboard per 4-6 machines.

DOS Tip: If you use something like VNC (or even Windows terminal server), you dont even really need a KVM, do it all thru the network.

I'm wireless and can run anything on any machine from anywhere in the house using my notebook...

I've got a simple little Linksys KVM. Don't realy need it cause I can log into any machine on the network from mine or any of the others, but it's just as easy to hit Ctrl twice to get between these two.

Oooh, Hell Puppy, you really know how to talk to a girl.

I like them both. As far as little timesavers, I would have to say a wireless router. I have print servers on all the printers, and love the ability to access everything from my laptop anywhere in the house.

Wireless network and VNC, I can't imagine trying to work without them. Sitting on the couch with my notebook while running stuff on multiple machines just rocks.

Now all we need is a wireless beer server.

Oh wait, some people might say that's already been invented and it's called a "wife", but not me....I'm no pig... :cool1:

I want to get the pneumatic air tubes installed in my house like I saw on an episode of Monster House. Master control is in the kitchen, and a beer can be shot all over the house.

Awesome! :biglaugh:

Yeah, but wouldn't that shake the beer and result in you wearing it when you opened it?

Technology needs to solve these important issues.

I want hot wings delivered right to my recliner too....

...and doughnuts!

Mmmmm... Doughnuts! Krispy Kreme run anyone?

I thought about the shaking beer problem, but I'm pretty sure they opened one up on Monster House and it didn't pop its load. Maybe it was a shitty beer. :)

Have a kid. They're quite handy for these items from about 3 to 13. When I had a broken leg, the kid was 3 and he was my little butler. Though he also realized I couldn't chase him.....

I had a friend who taught his german shepard how to open the fridge and get him a beer. B)
