How do you guys think this will effect our business ?

Well, collectively, we as an industry brought it on ourselves. The good old Consoles were probably acceptable, but when you get 1/2 a dozen or more on a page these days, some trying to download dialers, spy bots, and home page changers etc, well...

It just means marketers will have to be a little more innovative... ;)

I've notice over the last year or so that I get more pop-ups from mainstream sites than porn...

But it's still going to take money from the table for use all in some way or another...

yup no one made a noice about popups until mainstream sites started using them.

If its like everything else Microsoft does, there will be a way around it.

Within the next 1-2 years I bet we will see MS releasing more features which will have an impact on popups, spam, scumware, dialers, cookies, and virus... evolution!

there already is :)

i doubled my income the day i learned the art of the blur console, so i'll make sure my surfers are still offered those additional opportunities to purchase products and services.

Funny but some of the sites in the MS network rely heavily on pop-up advertising. Unless they're planning on incorporating more flash overlays, etc do you think their ad sales department will appreciate the company killing their income streams. And you're right, there were no probs till mainstream sites started integrating pop-ups.

Obviously you did not follow the link, or read the page if you did.

While sliding ads are nothing new, what we are providing is a sliding ads generator so that if you run a sponsor program you can let your affiliates generate their own ads, complete with approved text, banners and affiliate codes built in

thank you, we think so. It is a nice, inexpensive way to provide additional tools to affiliates. We made it very affordable, and easily customized to meet the needs of whomever uses it.

Pop-ups on mainstrean sites are very annoying - but the abuse by adult sites help contribute to this.

Will IE block pop ups by default? AOL already has a little button in the browser that makes it simply to block them, but not by default.

The newest google bar also blocks pop-up ads, which is a plus :)
