GFY is Serge's exclusive recruting ground. I just go over there to get a recon report so when they tell all their TGP buddies they gonna bust this place up Im here ready to give them a proper welcome.

I do however extend many invitations to people to come join the gumbo at Oprano. As it has been said this is a think tank for adult webmasters.

Serge and Mike provide the tank ... what each person draws from it is up to them. Part of the job is to provide new blood so I go forth and recruit.

The Good,The Bad and The Ugly was the first resource I looked at when signing up for a new sponsor. If you look on GG&J they call it a "help desk" but its still the same idea. Oprano just calls it the way it is. Part of why people come here is to see whats really going on in the industry.

And everytime theres a piss war ...well as it been said...it always has been and always will be about pageviews. Each time one of these breaks out some of those lookie loos end up staying. They see there is massive information here and are willing to think about the discussion to draw from some of the industry leaders.

Now if you want to talk about 50 or what your drinking on a Sat night - there is another resouce...talk about your momandthem there are plenty of webmaster social boards. If you want to see whats going on in the business and get some free advice then you come to Oprano.

Just wear a wet suit or stay away from the piss.

But when the loud assholes are completely drowning out the intelligent conversation, it starts getting pretty sad.

I'd say a better "mix" to the gumbo would be to have one asshole at a time, that way there's still the normal conversation and business talk without the entire focus of every board index refresh be about the latest asswipe preaching how much better he is than all of the rest of us.

Edited to add... because when that happens, then there's really no difference in being here or being at GFY. You just see assholes screaming, people insulting those assholes, and people defending themselves against the assholes. What's the point in coming back?
