surfers must love plugin content if the big sponsors can go 100% (or close) plugins and they still generate a profit, huh?

whats your experience with using plugins?

There are 2 schools of thought on content. This is a debate that has been going on since day one.

It is a reality that many sites have nothing more then plugin content, and their numbers are not much worse then sites that have tons of custom content. Surfers have become jaded, and educated and thus move around a lot.

This may cause a piss storm.....but.......

I still think a lot of retention is from members who simply just forget to cancel.

Guess which school I attended ? ;-))))

i actually thought you WERE him under a different name because of the ;-))))) 's your post :D

I AM listenning and agree, I'm just shopping for plugins right now and dont know how much to put up or if I should go ALL plugin, since I'm going to be using mpeg content to get the surfers there with tgp galleries.

If they joined because they like the sample mpeg clips that they saw in the movie gallery (that I buy off of Ounique or somewhere) and then they dont see the full movie from the sample in the site, I dont know if they'll cancel.

but I'm definetely going to use the AEBN's plugins because of their fighting acacia and I want to support them.

rebills was ALWAYS the people who forgot to cancel, since the Day One.

95% of the members never visit site more than 2-3 times and the rest 5% ain't worth the effort.

and before you keep on barking on the people who unlike you know how to make money, REAL money in this business,
I'll throw you the bone to chew on and THINK if you are capable...

High Socity sites used to have:
10 new pics a day, one video feed and according to FTC made only $230,000,000 in 20 months....

High Society, Obsession, shit can't remember the rest of the names anymore, but the key to all of it was traffic....

Massive massive (and I do mean MASSIVE) amounts of traffic up front.........

ahahahahahahahahhahaha

errr I'm flattered.

I think..... ;-)))

Experiment...find out what works for you.

The cool thing in this business is that if once you've built your new "superstore" and you don't like the layout or colour or whatever.
You can change it all without the need to have big burly men ripping down walls and slopping paint everywhere. ;-)))

Unless , like KK , you like that sort of thing ;-))))

Big burly men with no shirts in painter's suits that need cleaning off... now there's an idea I can wrap my mind around :groucho:

This thread is seriously tempting me to ask some of you to visit our new paysite and rip it up.

yea, read that thread eat a peach linked to.

for certain niches, the custom content really will rebill because of the content. but for a good portion of niches (obviously teen and amateur at the top) and general megasite etc a lot of it has to do with retards who are too stpuid to cancell anything they signup for, etc. anyway check that thread, there's some good discussion in there.

I like it, but I am far from an expert......

The only criticisms I would have are on some navigational issues, but you are not open yet, so I assume you are aware of them...

Looks nice, clean.... Good content...

Let me know when you are going to open so I can point a couple of banners at you, I have a few free sites with some pretty good googles for the niche :)

Unless you've got the money and knowledge to run an affiliate program, if you're only doing plug-ins, why even bother? And DOS TIP: if you just have plug-in content, no one in their right mind is going to join your affiliate program if you only offer rev-share.

Save the money you'd spend on your tours and plug-ins and go build some sites to generate traffic and send it to sponsors. They'll pay you per signup up front, and it's not your problem to worry about conversions, retentions, customer service, charge back ratios and all of the bullshit.

There is money that to be made with retention. Not all rebills are accidents. I assure you it is quite possible to build sites where they are willingly rebilled month after month and visit almost every day.

This is no fluke, we have plenty more like this, and it is very much by design. We have some really ancient ones on Epoch, but I dont know of a way to generate a similar report with their software:
