View Full Version : Which Marx made the greatest contribution

Crossed my mind (short trip) this evening

While Karl Marx issued Manifest der kommunistischen Partei (Communist Manifesto) in the hope of precipitating social revolution .....
So far that hasn't really worked and (IMNSHO) at best are marginally interesting to read and then follow the influence his writing and work had

Grouch gave us entertainment and thought provoking witticisms that still hold true and amuse us

Wonder if MTV could do a Marx Celebrity death match :groucho:

"If you happened to take a look up FDR's family tree, you might run into Clinton Roosevelt, who wrote a booklet entitled Science Of Government Founded On Natural Law (Dean & Trevett, NY). What makes this work important is that this little document contains most of the New Deal/Communist Manifesto. And what makes the thing interesting is that it came out in 1841, several years before Karl Marx's work! The truth is that both Clinton Roosevelt's Science and Karl Marx's Manifesto were plagiaries of yet an earlier eighteenth century collection of writings by another Jew named Adam Weishaupt.

Weishaupt died in 1830 and Clinton Roosevelt simply picked up the torch and passed it on to Marx."

http://www.liesexposed.net/nfp/issue0103/roose.htm (anti-semitic) anyone that gets upset over such text should not look at that link.

I was looking up info on the bastard Roosevelt, and came across this paragraph.

I had not heard this theory until then.

Marx spent over 7 years researching in a library in London as he wrote his works. its not surprising that most of it was "borrowed"

I love reading this stuff. I speak Russian fairly well and have read all of Lenins writings as well as studied East European History of the last century quite a bit. When reading their writings and considering it within the context of the times they were writing in, it makes a lot of sense.

It is, of course, a well known fact that Franklin Roosevelt was a Jew. That truth was established by a prominent German politician in the 1930s-40s. If you are inclined to believe in the theories proffered by the likes of such people - or if you are inclined to believe it matters one fucking bit whether he was or wasn't - than I am sure you can take whatever is on that website as absolute truth.

But the profound truth goes far beyond plagarism by Marx and an early Roosevelt. I mean, can't you see the significance?

CLINTON Roosevelt? Ohmyohmy ... the plot thickens

The unheard of Marx but one of the most important: Sam Marx
My mom had him as a sugar daddy for 30 years when I was in Hollywood. Started with Mayer and Thalberg, now MGM...discovered a cutie and put her in Lassie Come Home, Elizabeth Taylor...one of the behind the scenes moguls of the movie biz.

He died last year at the age of 101...my mom got some nice goodies, the best is Post Office Box 1, Beverly Hills, CA

Do a google search on Sam Marx...amazing life.

I've only read the Communist Manifesto. Capital put me to sleep.

I'm interested to know what J.R. thinks Marx "borrowed". The implication being that Marx was some kind of German commie plagarist.

Marx took the ideas of others - like Hegel's dialectic - and applied it to his own work, sure. But that's not ripping off someone else's stuff.

I agree. To say he is a difficult read is an understatement. Reading it is one thing, understanding him is another. Many a phd thesis has been written that just involve dumbing his material down. None of the critics on here have made any statement beyond the standard kneejerk comments about his ideas on the shortcomings of capitalism. Which only prove they have no idea the breadth and the scope of his work. I am trying my hardest not to get involved in this thread. Marx was a genius.

I can hear it now, "but he was wrong about the revolution". Listen up halfwits. Marx was writing at a time when the proletariate were working under conditions that one could barely imagine now. Marx only failed to predict the ability of capitalism and the means of production to adapt. It would have only been a matter of time if people were forced to work under horrific conditions that they would eventually rise up and start killing. Conditions improved enough to keep people happy and keep the revolution a distant idea. This still holds true today, 90% of the population make enough to just survive on a daily basis. The artificial need created by the culture industry keeps you consuming, keeps you working for whatever they will give you. Fucking sheep.

I agree, I would like to know what he ripped off from someone else.

Flying out of LA simply costs more.

One of the bad things about LA.

If I had more time maybe, but crunching it in like this, and trying to make Vegas as well as Mardi Gras is simply too much.

fuck it, next year.

My return ticket from here cost me AUD$1900 which is about USD$1400... and you can't get much further away from Amsterdam than Australia.

That's a shame about the price, man. I guess Xmas/New Years is busy as hell.

I'll be in Amsterdam for next New Years Eve anyway... so it's all good.

Amsterdam is my second home. I've spent over three months there already and this will be my fifth New Years. There's nothing quite like it anywhere else in the world. It's like a theme park for men.

Don't forget that if you go to the movies there you can buy bottles of Grolsch at the Candy Bar and drink em during the film. That is, of course, after your joint and space cake at the coffeeshop around the corner.

Who said it would be absurd to say that people were slaughtered in the name of God?

All I said was its absurd to blame it on Jesus. Just as absurd as blaming Marx for Stalin's transgression.

If I took something you said, twisted it around and used it as justification for chopping up your family with a hatchet, is it my fault or your fault?

"right" or "wrong" is primarily determined by the number of those who believe. the more people that believe in an idea, the more "right" it usually becomes.

If you as an individual comitted an act of murder by twisting my words around, then you would be wrong simply because there would be no safety in numbers.

If you were skilled enough to get 1,000,000 people to slaughter another 100,000,000.... you would have a chair at the UN and most likely, on the Security Council.

That is not an answer. If the question would have been, "Were the crusades right or wrong", perhaps. Were the crusades Jesus fault? Absurd. It is more Paul's fault for spreading the semite disease into the diaspora in the first place. But I digress...

So following your logic, if I can gather up some followers to help me kill and rape children, using your words as justification, it then becomes your fault?
