Got some bad news.. And I got some good news.

Bad news.

Looks like PHB III is NOT going to happen this year, a few of the sponsors have backed out do to financial problems and at this point it does not look good unless something happens in the next 48 hours that will revive it !

Good News.

Looks like we are going to have another Hi-Rise “Purecash” private party again, just like in 1997 do you remember it : )

The party will be small again, our GOOD friends and of course some of the people that we work with in Purecash will be invited ! So if you were around in 1997 and at some of the great parties we had in Orlando, South Beach or New Orleans you know what I am talking about and we hope to see you in Vegas !

If for some reason the PHB gets off of life support I will let yall know as soon as possible !

:(

Just goes to show that the industry is contracting, maturing. I do not blame companies for watching bottom line.

The good news is, we are back to the OLD School days of bad ass house parties.... Billy, start cutting coupons, I am going to check my sofas for change, PureCash will be throwing a VIP bash!!

Damn shame Billy, ADS/ARS was looking forward to the great sponsorship and networking opportunity, come on you penny pinchers, wring out your stripper wallet for one night and let's have a party.

We need to get Dusty to bring in his jar of moldy change! :)

The only "private" party I went to was the one in NO and I thought it was great. Good food, good drinks, good fun, good people. :cdance:

Heck, I wouldn't mind if we all needed to pitch in a few dollars. :okthumb:

All you cheap freeloading bastards!

We have been in from the start as a sponsor of the PHBIII, would like to see some other people step up. I missed PHBII, and want to make up for it!

I will pledge $100.00............

Know it's not much, but then again, I am not pushing a program.....

How about an Opranaut sponsored PHB III ?? Or a hybrid... Sponsors and Individuals. ??

that is sad:( Last year was my first and it was truely the BEST party I've been to at all the conventions. Hell one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of attending :)

added: I would toss in what I can find in the car vacuum machines :)

Cash bar? Should drop the price Billy and maybe we wouldn't need to find another sponsor.

It is probably bette to go back to the small parties.... its much fewer headaches.

Hmmmm, instead of a cash bar you could do drink tickets and let people that aren't 'sponsors' per se buy them in bulk.

I seriously wouldn't mind if we each paid to attend.

Though I think the REAL reason for the possible cancelation is they're waiting to see if Roy recovers.

I see what a few of you are saying, yes a cash bar would drop the price but we have always had parties that made people fell like VIP's I would like to continue the party only if we can keep the standards high !

I have had a few people contact me and who knows the PHB may be on life support !

It's been way too interesting and eventful of a year not to have a big blow out at the end of it. Hanging out on Oprano all year and then going to Vegas and NOT having a PHB is like cancelling the Super Bowl.

I'm still pissed because I won the fucking Football Pickem last year and then didn't get to do Vegas and the PHB.

This is an intelligent group with plenty of ideas, cash and connections. There's gotta be a solution. I see some folx stepping up. If full sponsorship packages aren't getting takers, maybe come up with a way to do it with smaller chunks.

Let different sponsors sponsor different parts of the event or something if that's what it takes. Split the open bar into shifts. Make a scene, ham it up, ring a bell and announce "this hour the drink are on ______". Hell, go for even smaller bites of that if needed, do 15 minute increments if you have to. Get it small enough and I'm sure some individuals will kick in for shits and giggle instead of just sponsors.

If you have to pass the damned hat, pass it over this way.

This is a problem that needs to be solved.

That is disappointing news that the Ball might be cancelled. I just got back from Northern California, and was bummed when I read this thread this morning. From what everyone was telling me, it sounded like it was going to be a lot of fun. What's "plan B," Gonzo?

I haven't been on ICQ since I got back....had to move temporarily so I'm on dialup (gag) until I can get satellite or something installed here...this area doesn't have cable or dsl...poverty blows...

KK, I was told Burbank wasn't flying either so I didn't bother.....on my way driving home I heard a friend picked up a flight in Burbank....ugh!
