I will be one hell of a game either way.

I love the Yankees, always have, I am wearing my Jeter Jersey (which looks a little funny on my fat self)

There is no better stage from which to prove or disprove the curse of the Bambino.

I do know for sure that Pedro better be able to handle fans on his ass like never before (Ask John Rocker about it)

Go Yanks

I just want to say I feel sorry for that poor guy in Chicago who now has not move and have an extreme makeover : (

I would like to see the SOX win, but I wanted them to play the Cubs !

It doesn't get bigger than this
this game 7,
is better than the world series

And we have had our backs against the wall,
4-0 this playoff season in elimination games
lets make it 5
and so what if we don't
no curse
you lose to the Yankees in 7 games, should you be afraid
the best team money can buy
while we are the most well put together team
without the yankee's $

And the starting salaries for tonights game

NYY 69,249,814
SOX 68,575,000

Not a whole lot of difference in those starting lineups .97% to be exact

Salery does not win playoff games - players do

Interesting ... I had no idea Boston's payroll was that high!

They have a pile of great hitters ... should be a great game no matter who wins. :okthumb:

You can't fight the curse.

God himself put the curse into effect via the Babe, and it will remain in effect until such time as baseball no longer exists. The curse specifically precludes the Red Sox from ever winning the World Series again, although in this case, it's unlikely the Sox will even win the LCS.

Next year will mark the 40th anniversary of me being a full-blown died-in-the-wool Yankess hater.

In '64 the Cardinals still played in old Sportsman's Park - pretty close to a clone of Wrigley. In a wild, crazy, insane pennant race they won (or, the Reds and Pirates choked during the last week) - but the Yankees had made a bunch of public comments about how they hoped the Cardinals wouldn't win because the small stadium would cut into their % of the gate. Of course, the Cardinals and Bob Gibson beat 'em in 7 (Gibby won games 5 and 7 with three days rest in between, and both were complete games).

Besides - I'm a liberal. We are always rooting for the underdog when it comes to a confrontation with the imperialist oppressive Yankee dogs ... :D

God, I love baseball..it is so great that it is actually getting decent coverage over here now...okay, I have to watch it in the middle in the night but atleast it is on. I got married in October (26 to be exact..soon, soon) 7 years ago and the series was on and I remember my dad almost having a heart attack because Sky sports ( like ESPN over here) cut into the game for Australian dirt biking and never went back to it.

I want the Yankees to win, so we can have a nice little war down here in Miami. There's so many New Yorkers down here.

I tried to get tickets today, but not sure if I want to pay $600 for the tickets that retail at $145. Probably not. <_<

To quote Web Father - in numbers I trust ...

I never, ever make up numbers

Sorry - you won't have 35 mile an hour winds tonight giving Nomar GarciaPOPUP fluke triples that on every other night are routine flyouts

Well that sucks....

We had a realistic shot at Cubs vs. Red Sox which would've been a classic match up of teams with long time suffering but loyal fan bases....

But instead we get Yankees vs. Marlins which is like New York North vs. New York South.

Reading the next to the last line in your post, It looks like Grady is not the only idiot.

By the way - Chink is a racial slur against Chinese people - not Japaneese

If you are going to be a racist asshole at least get it right

hee hee
oh getting testy
ok Matsui

from boston.com
blame grady

As for Little, apparently his explanation was live with Pedro, die with Pedro, or something to that effect.

"Pedro wanted to stay in there. He wanted to get the job done just as he has many times for us all season long, and he's the man we wanted on the mound," Little said at an abbreviated post-game press conference. "Pedro Martinez has been our man all year long. In situations like that he's the one we want on that mound over anyone we can bring out of that bullpen. He had enough in his tank to finish off Posada. He made some tough pitches to him, squeezed his ball out over the infield, and there's nothing we can do about it now."

Sorry, Grady. When Game 7 is on the line, and your ace has given you all he's got, no matter how badly he wants to stay in there, "Pedro's our man" simply doesn't cut it. You say "no," go to the bullpen that got you to a Game 7 in the first place (Pedro wasn't the reason, for sure) and you see what can happen. Should Pedro have even come out for the eighth? Did Little pinch run for David Ortiz and Jason Varitek too early, losing their bats in the process, when they could have used them later? Did Red Sox Nation really need more questions to ponder?

Well atleast my Sooners are gonna rip apart whomever they face
Praise the Lord
boomer sooner
lets move on

Baseball is boring and ignorant and ....

a Pussy Sport (not even sure it should be called a sport - that's an insult to the only real sport NFL! and an insult to pussies everywhere) which Pedro Martinez proved
