An Intro

Hello board,
I wanted to introduce myself since i am (ahem) new to this board. Actually I joined it quite awhile ago and just failed to post or be any kind of active over here. Seen your stupid posts thing and knew.............Just KNEW I would end up on it sooner or later. Anyway's, Gonzo (disparaging comments aside from confucy) pointed me on over here and suggested get involved, so here I am. A little about myself;
I have been in the business for a little over 4 years, and currently own/co-own several members sites (2 of which are awaiting Visa BS approval) and the rest are doing ok. I enjoy playing with design work, but I suck at it *if you know of any really killer photoshop v6 tuts I love them things*. My wife and I do video encoding for other webmasters, really inexpensive, but high quality (little plug there).
That's what I am, here is what I am not.
1)Rich but i wanna be
2)knowledgeable, if i were i would be what I am not in #1
3)a bullshitter... Don't have time for it. If i say it it is true to me at the time.
4)a big time anything, strictly small potato's (potatoes for the republicans among us) here.

I am also pretty friendly, i like to joke around, but I have always had the opinion that webmaster boards are meant to be learned from. I contribute anything of value I can and hope to shore up my shortcomings by reading what others post.
I know there are a lot of people here who know vast amounts of information more than what I will ever know, and I look forward to interacting with you all.

Thanks Trev, yeah, i been around just long enough to know how small the webmaster world is and what goes around comes around, so i try to shoot straight all the time.

Hi MikeAI, heard a lot of good things about you bro. Not sure what you mean by 'editing' but yes, we encode for webready to mpeg-1, .wmv, .rm. I got a program right now for splicing video content, but I am still leanring with it, we basically take content from VHS (any format worldwide) DVD or miniDV and encode that.

Gonzo has explained to me what you mean by editing, and i have to say the answer is no. I have Pinnacle Studio v8 and have been playing with it with some miniDVs I have laying around. But I am as competant with it as I am skinny. (I admire Gonzo's phsique) So quik and easy. although i can dress up a video as far as color/gamme type corrections, actually splicing videos and adding fades and all that, I cant or more accurrately won't do it for other people. I wouldnt want to mess it up.
