Depends on what kind of attorney you need.

First Amendment?

Patent Litigation?

General Business?

Copyright & Trademark?

Cambria is one of best for 1st amendment.

Leaf through the latest AVN Online and see who comes up at the legal seminars. There's nearly a dozen there: Obenberger, Walters, Lane, Picccionelli, DeWitt, etc.

But as Far-L said, it's also helpful to know their expertise and/or if there is a specific area of law you are wanting handled.

And as Serge said (apparently no prob in your case) they ain't cheap.

Most of the above are idiots. They scare people into spending $. There are far too few good lawyers in this biz, just sharks.

I find myself agreeing with you on this one, Brad. Not mentioning any names either, but ...

A few of the above, I know farily well and are good guys. The rest I don't at all except what I've read or heard and am not overly impressed with those.

A good while back I wanted a simple but specific contract so I ran it by a few of them. Those I did all wanted an outrageous sum for the task. Each also promised the contract had to be between 30-70 pages long, with 25-plus hours of billable time attached to it, and could deliver it in three or four weeks.

Long story short: It took a bit of hunting but I ended up finding an attorney who shares my views, whose work is superior, has knowledge of the industry, and who doesn't require a mortgage loan every time he blinks. Oh and that contract took him two hours time, I got it in two or three days, and is a total of six-and-a-half pages long and exactly what I wanted. :D

Obenberger, - ambulance chaser, who will scare you out of your own wits and you'll start looking at your own shaddow, plus....his uninvited sexual advances towards my wife do not sit well with me

Walters, - is that the one who tried to organaze some webmaster coalition?

Picccionelli, - isn't this the one who scared poor Lee Noga out of business with zip codes and other "goodies"?

I never heard of the other 2...which might be a GOOD thing about them
;-))
