CBS news is reporting that Arnold has won the recall election. I doubt he'll do much to help CA but it will be fun to watch.

Cant happen without a constitutional amendment because he wasn't born in the U.S.

A person not born in the USA can be anything but a President or VP.

So the highest is Sec. of State I guess. I.E. Kissenger and Mad. Albright.

Look this election wasn't about democrats at all, this election was about Gray Davis and how much he was unliked by the people of cal, alot of dems too.

Let's see how well Arnold can do in 3 yrs...

i'm just confused though. he's been in office for one year and people really think he is the root of the problem?

Hoop,

this is his 2nd term, his 5th year.

Silcon valley went down hard, bad electric deals that former gov wilson and he made too, lots of bad things.

Davis can be disliked for some problems, but the economy mostly isn't his fault.

but in Politics, you take credit when it's good and you get screwed when things are shitty :)

Actually Tod, wouldnt the Speaker of the House be the highest.

Slav,

well I was thinking who was the highest non born american under some admin's. but you are correct.

In the line of succession,

1. vp

2. speaker of the house

3. pres. pro tem I belive.

Anyways, arnold will never see that election, takes 2/3's of house, senate and states... will never change...

Slav,

if you remember correctly at the near end of wilson's term he started the talks with companies like enron, utils, etc.

I am neither blaming wilson or davis. Davis was in a bad economy, couldn't do much with it, didn't come out very likeable to people, lost his butt tonight.

I do respect him for not resigning, being a good loyal, tough democrat.

Serving in Vietnam, War Hero, Bronze Star, etc.

His political life is probably over, but he gave cal. and the dems 20 yrs :)

I guess there aren't enough of us Californians here to cry "Pearl!" so I'll have to do it... well said - most of us (and it was proven in a vote today I do believe) feel this is true! :awinky:

He can't do MUCH worse.... but we'll be watching. We've got the itchy Recall trigger finger now - lol :groucho:

Well, if the Republicans hadn't staked out the patent on media conspiracy we'd have something to blame it on too.

Arnie is not a dumb man, I think he will set his policies and put good people in place to get them implemented..... however, the situation California finds itself, I am not sure if Jesus Christ could fix it.

I would not have taken the job if someone gave it to me....

Rush is droning on today about how this election was about the rejection of "unchecked liberalism". Wrong, it's the economy stupid. I agree with Mike, I think Arnold just walked into a hornets nest.

I watched Arnold's acceptance speech last night and it was classic actor speak. I am going to bring businesses back to California, I'm going to cut taxes, I'm going to return California to the great state it once was.....

How? I've never heard a plan that he has. How do you cut taxes in a state that's billions in debt? You can do it at the federal level because you can print money but at the state level it's not that simple.

Republicans are rejoycing over this victory. I see it as a disaster for the party. Hopefully, Arnold will prove me wrong but I doubt it.

Thank R_n I don't live there.
