Looking in the $600-$1200 range. Content producers, what cameras do you use? Any warnings, advice, pros/cons?

Thanks in advance.

35mm or Digital?

I am personally a Nikon fan. We use the D100, its wonderful.

Digital.

I think we ended up going with:
Canon EOS Digital Rebel 6.3-Megapixel Digital Camera

For personal use... I'd recommend the Canon Digital ELPH.

Good stuff. :okthumb:

Nikon has some good ones in the upper priced ranges, which is what my dad uses for nature type photos. (he bought a 800 dollar one, not sure of the model)

I use a 3.1 kodak (surprisingly great) and a 3.1 sony cybershot for the folks who want something to play with at my place.

Hey Mikey, my attorney has the Nikon D 100, and a buddy of yours bought this same camera a couple of months ago. Yes, Luke Ford has your camera. But there is a problem. Luke is taking foggy pictures. :(

It is a great camera, but he thinks the reason he is getting fuzzy unclear pictures is because of his lack of experience with thenew toy. Do you think you or Buff or someone who uses your camera could give Luke a few lessons? :okthumb:

If you want to own a small camera that you can keep in your pocket or your purse, the Canon G5 is excellent. It takes great pictures and is small and easy to use. Most pros prefer the Nikons. I want both. Before the digital cameras became so popular, I tried several 35mm cameras. I never owned a Nikon. Then one day I bought a friend's Nikon with several lenses. I was in heaven. I never used all the features because I needed money and was forced to sell most of my camera equipment. What a loss. I'm looking forward to the day when I once again will have Nikon products surrounding me.

I have a Canon G2 and it's excellent. I think the Canon digitals do color better than the Nikon's but I'm just an amateur and not a pro photographer. The top end Nikon's shells are awesome though. Way more than I need though to justify spending a couple grand for a camera.

confucy I think Mike would love to meet with Luke in Vegas in January and show him how to use the camera, heck they could shoot Buff together !!

Plus this way Luke could interview Buff the next BIG porn star !!
