Anyone see the new series Karen Sisco last night? It is based on a character from author Elmore Leonard (really good crime author IMHO). She is from one of his novels "Out of sight", which by the way is a decent read. Basically she is a US marshall, who is very sexy, independant, and likes to mix it up in the bedroom. I also like the fact that she hits the bourbon heheh.

I thought it was a very well written show, and will definately catch the second show next week. The dialogue is great. Very sharp, and whitty.

Anyhow, anyone else see it? Thoughts?

The Karen Sisco character reminds me of Angelina Jolie. Robert Forster, who plays her father, has been around for a long time...very good character actor. I liked the bank robbing boyfriend, *Carl*...played by Patrick Dempsey. I believe he was a guest and won't have a permanent role. I think the show has a chance of making it. I enjoyed it. It would be nice if they brought in some of the sharp flashy graphics and colors that the old "Miami Vice" had.

The problem is: How many cop shows can we endure? How many more ER doctor and attorney shows can we watch without upchucking because they all look alike. Shows must know their limitations and leave before you want to block the series with your VCR. Good riddance, "Friends!" Take "Everybody Loves Raymond" and the same old bullshit and burn it.

I also like "The OC," because it has Peter Gallagher. The new show with Ryan O'Neal and Alicia Silverstone, "Miss Match," has possibilities. I missed the new Rob Lowe show which may be worth a peek. I am a big fan of Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer. Hope they are given good scripts because they have a good chemistry. I like James Spader in "The Practice," and will definitely watch Sharon Stone's appearances with Spader, but I'm tired of the series. :D

Yeah, I thought Robert Forster did an awesome job. And Patrick Dempsey brought some nice style to the show as well. I liked how some of the scenes were shot, especially the one in the rain that she kept flashing back to.

Couldn't agree more on that raymond bullshit, and there are WAY too many shows out there that all run together.

I think the strongest part of this show seemed to be the dialogue, which IMHO is by far the best part of Leonards novels as well.

Will have to see what the second week holds in store for the show.

I totally agree, I hate both Friends and Raymond (I still think Ray Romano is hysterical as a standup comedian, but the show is mildly amusing at best)

For me, THE show to watch is "Nip/Tuck" damned if I was sobbing like a little girl with a skinned knee at this week's episode...when Sean had trouble bringing himself to toss his lover's ashes into the ocean, not being able to reveal he was having an affair with her and after he had to sit and watch as she committed suicide...

Some of the best writing and acting on TV period. An epsiode that made me laugh out loud (the corpse head Christian was testing on slipping and falling to the floor) AND cry like a baby...damn good show....

To put this into perspective: I didn't even cry watching "Old Yeller"

I caught 15 minutes of "Nip & Tuck" and I loved it. I haven't seen it since that one time. I'll have to dig around and find the time slot. I think Raymond is a funny guy and I like him a lot like John Ritter, but I haven't liked any of their shows. They need better material. But the lousy writing hasn't stopped Raymond from becoming the highest paid TV actor. Good for him. Now, let him go on to greener pastures.

I think some of the reality shows are very funny. Whenever I want to wind down, I watch Big Brother, Survivor, The Bachelor, and I love the Makeover Show. Those doctors do wonders! That last lady reminded me of Carrie from Netpond. The noses are identical. With a Complete Makeover, Carrie can take Asia Carrera's place when she retires! That's Carrie's dream...to be a pornstar! May we all reach our dreams! :rokk:

Asshole. You put NO "If you haven't this yet..." warning on your post, and I taped it and haven't watched it yet. :headwall:

And what about when we found out why Christian's so screwed up with women! :o

I love that show!!!

(OK, I'd admit, the previews gave away a lot of what you tattled on. :nyanya: )

LOL! If you'd like, I will personally send someone TO YOUR HOME you may beat up on. :)

I still haven't watched it. I've had a headache all day and if I'm going to cry, it will make it worse, so your posting the info turned out to be good. :okthumb:

Well, if I want to be able to leave the country and attend my own webmaster gathering, I need to keep a very low and clean profile since my big court date isn't until after the show.

So, anger management classes, abstinance from alcohol (even though alcohol played no role in my little outburst against my ex-brother-in-law ;-)) and stressful situations and being a "ncie guy" are the order of the day :)
