As the basement dweller will tell you, I like a chilly house (and the windows open B) ), but I have to admit I closed the windows tonight and I'm even thinking of turning the HEAT on! It's supposed to get into the 40's over the next few days and maybe even into the 30's! :zoinks: That's about 15 degrees lower than the average for this time of year. Hopefully that means the trees will look EXTRA pretty in 2-3 weeks. :)

Peaches,

We have had the heat on for about a week now... A couple of nights in the last week it's gotten down to 29(f)!

On those really cold nights though the sky was really clear. In the last 2 weeks I've seen the Northern Lights 3 or 4 times. It's really incredible.

Getting pretty chilly here in the plains as well. It's gotten down to 40f the last two nights; upper 30s predicted for tonight, and a freeze warning for tomorrow night. Turned the heat on for the first time this morning.

That I would love to see. Living down south in Australia the only lights I see at night are my PC's disk activity :D

There are southern lights too! There is an aurora on both polls. I'm not sure where you need to be to see the southern lights.

I can't wait for it to cool down. I'm never spending another summer in Florida again.

It dropped down to 68 or so last night in NO.... slight little breeze.

Very nice....

Of course if it gets colder then that, I would not like it....

The high temp for this week will be in the mid 50's and the lows are in the 30's so yeah the heats been on here for awhile.

I like the cold weather. We had a moderate summer this year so it wasn't bad either. I'm just amazed that I'm even considering turning on my heat this early!

Time to call the gas guys and listen to them complain about bringing the gas truck down the driveway to fill my tank for the gas logs and space heater. :awinky:

Still got the air on up here in Vancouver :)

Was in the 80s at the weekend and should stay in the mid to high 70s all week. :)

I can usually get away w/o turning the air on if it doesn't go higher than the really low 80's and it gets to 65 at night. I leave most of the windows open at night which cools the house down and the trees keep the sun from baking it. If my walls (logs) were thicker, I think I'd have the AC on even less. Once the temp outside hits 85 or so or it doesn't get below 65 at night, I have to turn on the AC. I haven't had it on for about a month.

Of course, when my furniture is coated with yellow dust during pollen season(s), this method doesn't always seem like a great idea. :awinky:

Don't get too jealous - because of my desire to leave the windows open as much as I can, it gets very humid inside the house. I'm getting ready to replace the electronic keypad on my stove for the 2nd time in 2 years due to the moisture getting in it (and I assure you - it's NOT from cleaning :awinky: ). And if it's a really humid day, even on "hot dry" the dishes come out of the DW wet and the fridge likes to overwork itself.

But I like the fresh air and the sounds. :)

We hit a record high here yesterday in Phoenix :(

Of course it's cooling off just as soon as I leave for Curacao.
