GULFPORT, Miss. - The father of the White House press secretary claims in his upcoming book, Blood, Money & Power: How L.B.J. Killed J.F.K., that President Johnson was behind the assassination of President Kennedy.

Barr McClellan, father of White House spokesman Scott McClellan and Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Mark McClellan, is preparing for a Sept. 30 release of a 480-page book by Hannover House. It offers photographs, copies of letters, insider interviews and details of fingerprints as proof that Edward A. Clark led the plan and cover-up for the 1963 assassination in Dallas. Clark was the head of Johnson's private and business legal team and a former ambassador to Australia.

Kennedy was shot and killed while throngs watched his motorcade travel through Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963. Vice President Lyndon Johnson was sworn in as president shortly after on Air Force One.

"(Johnson) had the motive, opportunity and means," said McClellan, 63, who was a partner in an Austin law firm that served Johnson. The book, McClellan said, is about "(Johnson's) role in the assassination. He was behind the assassination, how he was and how it all developed."

Edited to add: AH SHIT. I blew the edit of my original thread title (it was too long). I DID NOT mean to attribute this to the Press Secretary. It is his father. Just another failing of a public school graduate ...

JFK's life, political paths and the conspiracies surrounding his murder have always been of interest to me. I'd give this book a read.

I have a copy of the Zapruder film if anyone is interested.

My dad always told me it was his belief that Johnson had Kennedy killed -- "cui bono?"

I watched this show on A&E the other night "Children Of Presidents" ..or something similar.

LBJ's daughter said in later life LBJ felt remorseful for some of his actions and his poor parenting.
And hoped and pleaded to be forgiven.

In light of this revelation, his wish , becomes even more interesting.

Having seen that tape,it sure doesn't appear to me that some one could have done all that with a bolt action gun from the book depository thats for sure.

My grandmother was convinced that Johnson had something to do with it ... but then, she was also convinced that the moon landings were done in a television studio and that professional wrestling was real.

pfff.. anything on TV or in the newspapers had to be true, right?

They did the Warren Commission and everything, so it must be right!

Sorry ... I've found most theories regarding the assasination of JFK rival Elvis sightings and Area 51 conspiracies in the level of bunk behind them. My money is still on the Cubans, the Mob, the KGB, and the South Vietnamese, in that order. Either that, or Col. Mustard (who was probably a Mason) in the Library with the monkey wrench ...

Besides, unless McClellan has some significant new information this particular theory has been around for a long time.
