View Full Version : The beast will fly
Another product of my retarded hobby.
Only took me 5 months to finish it!
Test flight tomorrow.....will make pretty confetti...hope not lol
Weighs about 21 pounds, has a 100 inch wingspan, powered by a 1.6 cubic inch twin cylinder 4 stroke engine with a 17 inch propeller...(hello fingers) and an onboard ignition system, and a custom machined nosegear strut with working shock absorber!
Barely fits in the Tahoe.
In the last pic you can kinda see the detail inside, it has all the seats like the real one and is all cloth covered.

thanks man, next project is a turbine powered jet.
I have to get a waiver for the insurance carrier though, incase it crashes and sets fire to my town.

I think that might be a little more then KC can handle !
it only took me about 7 years to learn to fly these without decapitating a spectator or making a very expensive lawn dart. :P
My son Reece would absolutely LOVE that! He is an airplane junky at only 2 years old...hehe
That is VERY kewl Shok!
this is a pretty cool video if you can get it to load.
Jet crash at about 200mph, no fire luckily
OUCH! (ftp://bmfk:bmfk@rolf.is-a-geek.com/andre_sine_uploadede_rc_videoer/jet_krasj_nm_i_heli_bore_2003.mpg)

That is one expensive dildo !!!!
But to each his own................... :yowsa:
Seriously..... Very cool Shok !!!
I never got past the Cox trainer models (string attached, plane held together with rubber bands so that when you crashed it fell apart instead of breaking)......... Always been fascinated by the big RC ones but never had the money or time to get real invoolved........
Yeah the cost sucks.
I used to do reviews in model magazines in the early 90's so luckily manufacturers would send me tons of free stuff so I would buil and do reviews, I still have alot of stuff left over.
Plus since Ebay came around, you can always find stuff for about a quarter of what it was brand new.

nice Shok...
one of my old neighbors used to teach people to fly those things down at Texas A&M... hes got like 10 of those things in his garage including a turbine F-16...
we've got some funny videos of they guys on the street all building and learning to fly them.. its not easy... fishing is a much more inexpensive hobby..
Now that me likes!!!!
Me likes allot!! :okthumb: :okthumb:
