Yeah Dave got around to putting a new battery in her, as well as changing out all of the fluids and oils.

Sorry Lens no girl or car - BUT send me your address - I have a shirt I want to send you. What size do you wear? The shops down here are selling www.gofuckyourself.com URL t-shirts. It has URL and Bourbon St. New Orleans underneath it.

Everyone should own a shelby once in their life!

I thought you had one of these Mike...

Haven't really got an all time favourite car... but a classic 427 Shelby Cobra would come close to being it.

Opti when we were at the shelby plant I fell in love with the Cobra, heck for 89 k you could have one (without motor that is) !

And of course there's not much in Michaels garage that beats his other Shelby for a fun ride on a spring day.

I couldn't import one out here without a huge duty tax unless I own it for 12 months in the USA first :awinky:

Opti the classic Cobras are nice.... thing is there are not many originals left.... maybe a dozen or so.

There are tons of clones, and even Shelby America makes one that is just like the old one - BUT its not the original.... I would prefer to have an original then a fake. Just my take on things.

Plus the way the value went up in the originals from the 60s, I am hoping my Original car number 148 out of 500 will eventually be worth what an original Cobra is worth now.

I totally agree KK. I had not driven her in awhile.... the weather cooled off, was beautiful and finally had a new battery in her - so I took her out for a spin. Put about 40 miles on her.... very nice. Still get tons of looks.

David Wesely from the Hornets even asked about her.... he was driving in his Escalade - he recognized me from the games... which is kind of cool.

The 68 is fun to drive too - especially with people in the car who can appreciate her!

:D

Dayum.... the girl was nice... but NOW this thread is really giving me wood!! :yowsa:

What about an LA to Vegas "Cannonball run" type thing for January.. I bet a pretty good line up of metal could be assembled..

(Maybe a car from each phb3 sponsor)

... oh yeah.. can you get that girl to move out of the way so we can see the car better?? ;-))

We had the idea to do a webmaster road rally from sf, to la, to phx, to vegas (ending at a show). Started planning it, then realized it would require ALOT of work to do it right and first class. Still wish someone would take the idea and run with it. I would bring the Ferrari.

If it was kept simple (and not a race) I bet it wouldn't be that hard to setup! Maybe Billy will like the idea when his mum lets him back online later! :P

Need a co-driver Brad? ;-)))

You could never make is a race, legally. There are also insurance liability concerns. Laura found a guy here in Dallas who puts on big Road Rally's, and was willing to do it for a fee. To do it right, there are a lot of logistics.

If you seriously want to do it, talk to Laura. She did some foot work on it 18+ months ago. I would be happy to sponsor, I just did not want to put on an event unless I was 99.9% sure we could do it right, and first class.
