View Full Version : Dear Islam
Dear Islam:
It's been awhile, but I see the game remains the same: Iraq, Indonesia, India, and, of course, Israel. And that's only the places starting with I! I don't know what to make of that pattern, but I will advise staying out of Indiana.
I just wanted to let you know how I've been uncomfortably numb for most of the day. I gave an acquaintance a lift to the bus station this sunny morning, and she confided in me that we were attacked because Bush was in the White House. I was speechless. I can only wonder how many others across the world buy into that.
However, I was reminded that Western Civilization blenches the moment it starts treating you like an adult. The moral relativism excuse train pulls into more stations than usual just to make sure your fragile, little self-image is not tarnished. I guess everyday people just find it too incredible that there really are a bunch of international thugs and malcontents on the loose trying to turn back the clock.
I'm going to have to get back to work but just wanted to leave you with one more thought. As far as I can tell, you are the spiritual equivalent of a petulant special education student, and without the equivalent of Reformation you will always be thus.
Drop me a line when you start getting your act together.

But isn't he a nobel peace prize owner and a legitimate democratically elected leader? :hic:
btw - That "talk" is about deporting him rather than eliminating the annoyance. As a matter of fact the talk is about "creating the circumstances needed for the removal of this person who is considered an obstacle for peace".
Now... What happend if instead of Arafat he was called Saddam? Or Bin laden? How many deliberations do you think lets say the US instead of Israel would have before using a 7 TON bomb eliminating the guy, his aids and everyone in a 50miles diameter? :salute:

Think highly of your diction? Whatever redeeming qualities your little attempt at a psuedo-intellectual rant may have had were rendered null and void instantly when you exposed yourself the mental midget with your opening line, "Dear Islam". The rest of the rant could have been written in crayon for all it mattered. Your "diction"... it doesnt matter how many candy sprinkles you put on a dog turd, its still a dog turd. Yes wonderboy, your amazing analytical and diction skills led me to believe it was plagiarism.
"Oh goody" I thought to myself, another 9th grade theologian.
Let me see if I can explain this to you in a manner in which even you can understand sparky. Lets say that the Church of Jesus Christ Christian Aryan Nations (a christian terrorist group to many), began a campaign of church bombings and selective assassinations. Would it wise of me to open my message board magnum opus with "Dear Christians"? Or would it be absurd to lump Christian Identity in with Catholics, Mormons, Eastern and Western Orthodox, Shakers, Baptists, blah blah blah? I am at least inclined to believe so.
Moral relativism and "reformation". Given the context of both in your brain fart, it is frighteningly evident that your grasp of history and religion is nill, and your concept of the use of moral relativism as an excuse used by some is lacking at best. Might I suggest a trip to the library? While there you should pick up a history book and take a look at what was occurring within Islam around the same exact time Xtians were killing off pagan Europe under the guise of redemption via the second hand words and blood of a dead Jew. Then come back and tell me about reformation.
So now, what was it about your post that dazzled me and led me to believe it was plagiarism? I believe the definition of plagiarism is "taking someone's words or ideas as if they were your own". So yes Jethro, couching the same tired hillbilly rhetoric in pretty pretty prose and pawning it off as your own is indeed plagiarism.
And I dont know what is more tragic. The plagiarism itself, or plagiarizing the ideas of other idiots... and then crossposting it.
Stick to being content, thinking isnt your strong point.

Killing off Buff and his ilk would have a disasterous effect on the economy and political landscape.
Buff, like most Americans, is a mindless consumer. He eats what he is fed. His identity, his knowledge of history and world politics comes via the flashing idiot box in the corner. And he obviously consumes alot.
What was the immediate response post 9-11? Get back on the planes, buy American, spend money, go back to normal. The economy is hurting, go back to consuming. Dont let the terrorists take your freedom. Your freedom to consume. If you stop consuming, and the economy collapses, the terrorists win. Not only was consumption the solution, it became an American's patriotic duty to consume. Freedom = consumption. Patriotism = consumption. It was partially brilliant yet mostly nauseating. Stick a flag on the minivan bitch, you are American.
Mindless fucking consumers of cultural texts. Gobbling up whatever is put before your face. Utterly oblivious.
Oh how I would love to line up the Buffs of the world and put a single bullet between their eyes. But as much as I hate to admit it, America needs Buff to survive. If we kill off the Buff, malls will cease to exist, entertainment industry would collapse, pulp style mass media... gone. Economy devastated. How do economists rate the health of this country? By looking at how much we consume. The more we consume, the healthier the economy. But the end result of mindless consumption is a soulless lump of phlegm we call an American. Cultureless and inept.
Imagine what our government would look like if they didnt have Buff sheep to lead around?

"Mental Midget" -- The denigrator of plagiarism shares his own original, descriptive term. Or maybe he just shows himself to be an unispired hypocrite. Either way, it's not the ad hominems which concern me -- I know how superior I am to the lower life forms; rather, it's Labret's misunderstanding of the world we all share which encourages me to continue my fight against public "education" with even more ferocity.
It's a common leftist ploy to try to distinguish the so-called radical elements of Islam from the so-called mainstream of the "Religion of Peace." It's only a fringe group of psychos, you see, who want to impose the Sharia on the "free world." The average Muslim has a heart filled with love for his fellow man.
Which explains the dancing and cheering in the streets of Syria, Egypt, and the territory erroneously referred to as Palestine when the towers fell. It also explains why Muslims are at war with the Hindus, the Buddhists, the Confuciusists (my term), the Christians, the Jews, the Atheists, and any other ist or ism which doesn't drop to its knees and face Mecca five times per day. Or not.
And, of course, the leftists also love to explain to us that Islam was the shining beacon of light during the dark ages -- something which is only half true, which anyone who has "pick[ed] up a history book" about Islam ought to know. Having a blood-lusty pedophile who admitted to being inspired in part by Satan, and his followers, run around the remnants of the former Roman Empire converting people to Islam under the threat of death and assimilating into their warrior culture some mathematics and science, very little of which they developed on their own, does sound like the leftist ideal. See the former Soviet Union for evidence.
But being a misinformed and deliberately mendacious jerkoff isn't belligerent enough for Lebrat. No, his next post really iced the cake, to borrow an analogy of his....

Now, this was the part which was more tragic than funny. This should be patently hysterical to those of you who have read anything I've ever posted here, but it should also be patently discouraging to those of you who have read anything that I've ever posted here: reading comprehension is a thing of the past.
So, yes, that's pretty ignorant of Labret; but the obvious hatred he has for his fellow man, especially his fellow Americans and their way of life, explains why he approves of Islam's attempt to destroy our culture. I'm sure he'd prefer to stone women who were raped than prosecute rapists, but Western Civilization did emerge from the dark ages.

I would jump in here and have a bit of a go with you over some of the stuff you have stated here Buff but far be it from me to look as if I am in support of Labret in any fashion whatsoever.
However, your denigration of public education is getting a little hard to take. There are some of us here that were not fortunate enough to have rich mommies and daddys to pay for a private education but still somehow managed to come out of the system with some semblance of a mind. Further, there are many stupid idiots running around this world that are the products of private education.
The purpose of education is to teach you how to learn. Those that participate in their education, rather publically funded or privately funded end up with the ability to gather facts and form opinions. Those that do not participate in their education and merely go through the process end up with a bunch of disconnected information that was fed to them by teachers with their own personal agendas.
You can go back to your Labret bashing now.

Destroy our culture. American culture, there is a fucking oxymoron.
I approve of "militant" Islam? Perhaps you could quote me on that? Or has your steady diet of cock and "you are either with us or against us" neo-patriot consumer rhetoric clouded your reading and comprehension abilities?
You are proof enough that America is well on its way to decaying from the inside. Help from an outside source not needed.

Leftist. So everyone that is not a super patriot is a leftist? Pretty strong argument on your behalf that you are not as simple minded as you appear to be. You are right sparky, everything is black and white, left or right.

The vast majority of this country has been educated via the public school system. The very same educational system that built the nation that George W. Buff feels is so fantastic, is shit. Well, according to Buffy anyways.

What's this consumerism neo-con nonsense? What's this blind patriotism? Why do you accuse me of such things? When you pull this stuff out of your ass, do you occasionally grab a homing gerbil by accident?
If you want to build up straw men and throw darts at them, that's your Buff-given right. If you had gone to private school, though, you'd know that I am not a fan of Bush's -- you would know this, because you'd be able to read the plethora of disparaging comments about him (in this very forum, no less) that I've made since his election. I could easily sit here and list off passage after passage from the Torah proving my point that Judaism is rife with images of militant Judaism and anyone who considers the Torah to be the true and inspired word of God must also believe in order to spead the word of Elohim, sometimes it requires genocide. But that would be absurd would it not? For every "Muslim" terrorist group, I could probably name a Christian terrorist group. Should I lump all Xtians in with them? I find it hard to believe that someone as brilliant as yourself would actually sit there and believe that of a faith of a billion plus people, they all want to destroy America. I am no expert on various branches and denominations within Islam, just as there are literally thousands of branches of Judaism and Christianity, but I feel pretty safe in saying that there are no Sufi terrorist groups.
Here, I did the hard part for you http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navc...fi+terrorist%22 (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=%22sufi+terrorist%22)

The ARIS 2001 total in Table 1, which shows 1,104,000 Muslim adults, is smaller than the figures in current circulation. Yet it is twice the number reported in the NSRI survey in 1990. Allowing for a sampling error of +/-0.5 percent, the ARIS 2001 figure maybe adjusted upwards to its maximum range of 1.0 percent of all 208 million American adults (see Table 1). With such an adjustment, the total national figure for US Muslims is 2.2 million, giving a total national population (including children) of just under 3 million. By comparison, the CUNY National Survey of Religious Identification 1990 found that 0.3 percent of respondents adhered to Islam.
.......................................
The geographical distribution reported in Table 1 is in accordance with expected patterns of residence. Muslim Americans tend to be heavily concentrated in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit and Texas

The Muslim Population Riddle
August 30, 2001 by Eric Boehlert Salon.com
How many Muslims are there in America?
The answer to that seemingly straightforward question is proving difficult to answer. And following the events of Sept. 11, attempts to estimate figures have produced palpable friction between Jewish and Muslim advocacy groups, each touting its own population surveys and methodologies, and turning a typically scholarly pursuit into a politically charged one.
The results, says Dave Roozen, director of the Hartford Seminary Institute for Religion Research, is an unprecedented battle between faith groups openly questioning the size of communities.
......................................
Last spring a Muslim-sponsored study, "The Mosque in America: A National Portrait," claimed there were between 6 and 7 million Muslims in America. The report, although part of a larger study of American congregations called "Faith Communities Today" coordinated by Hartford Seminary, was sponsored by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Ministry of Imam W. Deen Mohammed, who leads the largest African-American Muslim organizations, and the Islamic Circle of North America.
The study's sometimes startling findings, that the number of Muslims associated with mosques had increased 300 percent since 1994, certainly bolstered the notion that Islam was among the country's fastest-growing religions.
But it also raised eyebrows, particularly within America's Jewish community, which numbers roughly 6 million. As the Baltimore Jewish Times reported last spring, "Jewish leaders worry that this Muslim population surge will generate political influence that could skew U.S. Mideast policy."
In fact, "The Mosque in America" report came just months after Arab and Muslim groups weighed in with their first ever presidential election endorsement, signaling a new political emergence for the group as a sought-after voting block. (The groups endorsed Republican George W. Bush.)
Sorry, couldn't resist...............
Carry on....................

So instead of showing me an example of non-militant Islam, you show me an example of militant Christianity? And you think I will take offense or something, because you assume I'm a Christian or a Jew (because you're too stupid to understand that I can call Islam a scourge, a cult of evil, without being a Christian or a Jew).
It's too bad that you're too stupid to follow a bouncing ball, because that rules out letting you work the driving range at the local golf club.
Why don't you add your IQ to your ACT score and tell me if you need to add in your shoe size or not to hit 100.
Thanks, Sarettah, for pointing out that the only place where Islam is marginally peaceful is in the United States. Note that I would have said "in the Western World", but they're not peaceful in France or England.

There are militant members of Islam in France, in England, and in the United States.
That does NOT mean that all of those who practice that faith subscribe to the violent teachings of the funamentalists, any more than the actions of the "Christian" fundamentalists who kill abortion doctors can be used to charactrerize the beliefs of all Christians.

You are an idiot of astounding proportions.
If this is true, it's incredible. Sufi mysticism is about as far away as you can get in Islam from the doctrines of Osama bin Laden.
To hear that someone who was once Sufi has turned himself into a human bomb is like hearing that a former Anglican nun has bombed an abortion clinic.

Yes, Lot, you can find 10 good Muslims. Of that I have no doubt. Hell, 100 good Muslims. 1000 even. Maybe 10,000. 100,000? Out of what though, 1 billion?
The vast majority of muslims live under theocratic regimes and support the use of terrorism to fight the west.
People can deny this if they wish, but it's true.

Now wait just a durn second there...............
I did not say, or imply that the only non-militant muslims are in the U.S....
and even the most unreasonable person would have to admit that if even the majority of the estimated 1 billion muslims in the world could be considered militant, then we would be in a lot bigger trouble then we are.
The truth is that a small population of Muslims want to force Isalam down the rest of the world's throats, just as a small population of Christians want to force Christianity down the world's throat.
The vast majority of the world's population are content to believe what they choose to believe and feel that they will have the last laugh in heaven.
In the South Park movie, everybody dying was going to hell because they had the wrong religion. When someone asked, "well what was the right one", they were informed that it was the Mormons......

Buff, I'm not going to bite and play a numbers game with you.
Yes, there is a very real threat from Islamic fundamentalists. I don't think that all subscribe to that brand of Islam. You take the simple-minded approach. Not suprising, actually; - it is easier as it deesn't require anything complex, like thought. There are a lot of people who share your approach today - some of them because they are incapable of thought, some of them because it fits very well into whatever particular agenda they are trying to push forward.
The biggest problem I have is that putting something as simple-minded as your point of view into action as policy is the wet dream of the Islamic fundamentalists. Folks like you want us to become the most effective recruiter they have.

Pushaw! Everyone knows that cracking down on entire religious groups has the desired effect.
Look what it did to curb that pesky Christian problem in Rome. Perscuting those Mormons in the early days taught them a lesson. Those god damn Dutch reformers got their asses handed to them, now where are they? And the Jew problem, dont even get me started. Thank God Hitler got that problem under control.

PD:
Look, I would agree with you if you said something like...
"Most leftists are basically good people who are simply misguided. It's only the fringe like the ELF Greenies, or the NAMBLAites, or the race-baiters, or the radical atheists who really mean to be malicious."
I can agree with that, because I believe it to be true -- most leftists are leftists by default: they never learned economics, and they think central planning is a viable means of sustaining human existence.
But Islam is not similar. Have you ever seen the polls in Saudi Arabia or Egypt? They DESPISE us (and sometimes rightfully so). They also despise the rest of the world which is not under the Sharia. And we're not talking about a radical fringe. We're talking about your average Mo. He thinks the West is evil and that as long as the West is allowed to exist as is, Allah will be pissed.
Now, the more Westernized Muslims tend to be more peaceful and less radical. Your average Iranian hates his rulers. I concede this. Your average Muslim Turk is pretty well integrated into the 21st century, intellectually.
But go down the list: Palestine, Jordan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, and Yemen (I'll leave out the conflicts due as much in part to regional issues as religion -- Chechnya, Indonesia, etc.) -- these are very bellicose people. The empirical evidence speaks for itself.

First, even if I did post something that showed there was an over abundance of Jews in the media, what the fuck does that have to do with National Socialism?
Last time I checked, National Socialism was an ideology independent of race and or ethnicity. Case in point, this is the homepage of some Japanese National Socialists (http://www.nsjap.com/axis/intro.html) While Hitler made it famous, it would be like saying you can only be a communist if you are Russian.
Is that how you jackasses see National Socialism?
Rule #1: Hate Jews.
Yup, thats it, National Socialism in a nutshell. As if the Nazi version of National Socialism was the only ideology that disliked Jews. Muslims have hated them, Christians hated them, Communists hated them. Whats this kneejerk reaction to call someone a Nazi because they dislike Jews? Simply nothing more than the sheeple proving my point.
Seriously, cmon now.

Labret, we need to start off on square one. Is there any group of people you DO like? Do admire? Do respect? People who are alive today - not history.
Sure it would be nice to have a country where rugged individualism is rewarded, and the federal gov't does not butt into every aspect of ones life - but that is no longer reality. Since the Civil War the 10th Amendment has been ignored.
But we have to deal with reality, the situation we live in now, not some fantasy land.... Maybe you can buy some land up in Idaho and start your own country, with like minded people. Just watch out for Janet Reno.... :D
Oh and the part about TV was humor, if you would relax a little, maybe you would have caught that.... Only thing I watch regularly on TV is sporting events which are fed to me by the zionist corporations to keep the masses amused....
that and porn from time to time....

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Flag waving for any person in any country. It is no different then holding up a sign in support during a demonstration or yelling YeeHawwwww at the top of your lungs at a concert...
It is showing your feelings towards something........

Hmm ... so patriotism and belief in a cause is the same as being a big fan of [insert favorite music group here]?
The sad thing is, for some people there is no difference. They trot out a few memorized lines and consider it patriotism, the same way members of some religions trot out a few lines from the catecism and call it faith.
I am every bit the patriotic American that Mike is, no matter what Ann Coulter or Rush Limbaugh tell him to "think", and I use the term very loosely. Gimme a break - if the irony of saying "the same lame quotes" in the same sentence as "brain washed communists" was deliberate, it would be downright clever.

Mike, I don't have any issue with your views one way or another, except to say that when you say someone has a lot of hate, I think that you need to look closely at Buff's posts as well... there is alot of hate there.
Buff's outbursts smack of ignorance, racism, broad brush type casting, and a serious ditto head mentality.

Alex... there is no hate baby.... for you to say that I have hate in me is ignorant. You are trying to base this opinion on some posts I make on the webmaster boards??
PD - I have been Conservative since birth.... way before Rush or Ann were public stars. I know you have a hard time comprehending this, but I develop my own ideas... I base them on my personal experiences and the knowledge and wisdom I have picked up over the years.
In my opinion Ann and Rush have come to MY way of thinking.... :-)
I like them both, mostly as entertainers.... they both play their public roles very well, and I think they are both VERY funny. But I also think Moore and Franken are funny as well.... I just do not agree with what they are saying, but its still funny!!
I know its easier to paint people like me as a hater, who has no sense of humor.... but that stereotype does not apply to me...
So stick it on someone else....

No PD, I think SOME liberals are not patriotic.... there are some liberals who are indeed patriotic!
My #1 issue with liberals is on Foreign Policy - especially now. We used to have the understanding that dissagreements end at the waters endge.... Not any longer, and this is from BOTH parties!
Economic issues, labor issues, social programs, etc.... these are all legitimate issues to have debates and disagreements on. But when it comes to WAR, foreign conflict, one that we did not want, or start - well I think we need to work together.
Too bad that most dems do not see this and use it as a way to demagouge Bush....
PD I may dissagree with you, but I do not think you are unpatriotic....

Iraq is not a war, it is a battle in a bigger war.
The war began in the 80s when the US was repeatedly attacked by terrorists through out the world. The Marine Barracks in Beruit, our Embassy, the first attack on twin towers, Somolia, Cole, etc....
Finally after 9-11 we have recognized that we are in a war, and we have finally joined the battle. First in Afganistan, then in Iraq.... who is next? Syria? Iran?
This is a war that will last our lifetime, it will consist of many low intensity conflicts through out the world. Most of the stuff battles going on we will not even know about.

Mikey ... when U.S. foreign policy is being conducted in a manner detrimental to the interests of our country, then it's folly - if not unpatriotic - to fail to criticize it.
Following a policy that is guaranteed to recruit a great many more converts to radical Islam is a necessary step when it produces results beneficial to our country - i.e., Afghanistan. The same cannot be said in Iraq.
You want to talk about war with alQaida? Fine - I'm down for that. But please don't try to tell me that's what the war with Iraq was over - because alQaida wasn't there until we made it possible for them to be there.
Oh, I know ... the proof of the connection between Iraq and alQaida is underneath the massive stockpiles of WMD that binLaden and Hussein are sitting on.

If, as you say, the Iraqi incursion is about oil then we are marking a return to the policies of imperialism. Those policies failed. It is less likely that they will succeed now.
The appropriate lead-in to a statement like "Iraq strategy had more to deal with over all stability" was best made by that famous actor Herve Villacheze (as Tattoo in "Fantasy Island").

Define "patriotic".
By your statement I am assuming you feel that you have to prove your patriotism with visible deeds. As in you have to "do" something to prove you are a patriot.

I love fireman and policemen and New Yorkers, as they are the true heros. I joined the military because it was easier than going to college, and I helped liberate Kuwait thus keeping Americans safe.

Oh, come on now. After all, talking bad about government puts you on the side of the enemy. That depends.
Talking bad about the government collecting taxes, or regulating business, or does not put you on the side of the enemy - it makes you a patriot.
Talking bad about the government's foreign policy (if a Republican is president) - now THAT puts you on the side of the enemy.

actually according to the dictionary:
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=patriot
Patriot: One who loves his country, and zealously supports its authority and interests. --
One who loves, supports, and defends one's country.

one who loves his or her country and supports its authority and interests

Alex: Did you know that I have never danced in the streets to celebrate anyone's death, not even Hussein's sons' deaths? I don't celebrate when IDF troops exterminate Palestinian murderers. Hatred? Me?
It's not hatred. It's self defense. The only time I ever attacked any Muslims was to defend other Muslims in the first Gulf War. That's right, I put my life on the line to protect Muslims. Seems to me that I've earned the right to state my opinions about their religion.
And, of course, I invite you to prove to me that all the polls which say over 50% of Muslims worldwide approved of the 9/11 attacks were somehow mistaken.
In summation, I don't hate these people -- I just want to protect myself from them, because they threaten my way of life.
And as for how I make my living, I would be lying if I said it doesn't irk me that YOU somehow consider yourself to be in a position to pass judgement on my intellectual capabilities -- cuz you're not.

How can one take the position that the Americans are wrong to think there is a simple linear cause and effect with Islamic terrorism as the cause and American military action as effect and replace it with the belief that there is a simple linear cause and effect in which the Americans are causing terrorism against America.

Let me ask a serious question ;-)
A popular defense of Islam as a whole right now is to not confuse the minority with the majority. Of course, it is always the minority that actually goes off into battle while those at home just pump their fists in the air.
In the absence of state actors, how does one define "the enemy"? This is the same issue that Israel has not been able to solve. A few months ago, Israel agreed to a cease-fire with Hamas and the usual other terrorist baddies. But someone, whether of those groups or independently, decided to blow themselves up an Israeli bus. From Israel's point of view, what would have been the best response? What could they do to best achieve the outcome they wish for? I ask this not as a defense of Israel but rather as the question of how a state should act vs. a non-state entity.
In war, the majority is always defined by the minority. Only a small percentage of the pop goes to the battlefield. In that situation though there is an identifiable state leader.
Whether rightly or wrongly, Islamic terrorism is being used for political gain - or rather, to alter the political structure of the world. How should "the west" handle this?

hehe.. i guess if you can't win the flimsy 2nd Amendment "our forefathers promised me a gun" argument, then.....
actually i had a lot of guns. killed a lot of shit in my life. i used to fire between 10,000 and 20,000 rounds per summer with my Mini-14's shooting seals that were picking salmon from our fishing nets. i converted one to full auto which is horribly easy. i have killed tons of seals, sea lions... shot a few moose, killed a brown bear, deer, tons of black bear, mountain goats, dall sheep, carribou etc etc etc. in the end, i just felt stupid for it all. just a personal issue i guess. i regretted it all.
one day it just seemed like shooting things was a silly thing to do. i guess i matured. nothing about trauma or anything... more just dissapointment in watching groups of grown men fly around the world, paying often 10's of thousands of dollars to shoot something just to hang a chunk of it on the wall. i dont mind killing anything i am going to eat. I think its absurd to pay $8,000.00 to a guide and to fly to Montana to chase a buffalo across the plains in a new Ford Bronco until it almost dies from exhaustion and then shoot it in the head with a .340 magnum just to tell people you have a head mount that is 3rd in Boon and Crocket as my father did.
which by the way, it makes for a pretty stupid head mount. its somewhat like bolting a dining room table to the wall on its end and painting it black.
i have seen too many trophy rooms in my life. it just seems sensless. i have seen too many tiger skins... too many full mounted lions... too many zebra rugs... too many elephant foot stools... too many sets of walrus tusks... too many Giraffe heads... too many brown bear rugs and too morons bragging about their "Big 5" hunting trips.
i think that if a person is not worried about self defense and not worried about the NWO and not worried about "The Feds" taking over as The National Rifleman would have you believe is going to happen any minute... then there is no reason to have a gun. i realized i did not have a reason to have a gun. if i felt i needed one for self defense, i would probably go buy another pistol and apply for a concealed weapons permit.
karate had a lot to do with growing up in alaska surrounded by socially retarded weirdos hiding from the feds at the end of a dirt road. i started boxing but really got tired of getting hit. that seemed silly too. getting hit really hard... really often is a shitty skill to learn.
