It was an amicable parting, I'm still posting there, I still think Meat and Aga are two of the best guys in the biz - I'm just out on my own.

Nope Sare, not yet. It got put off first due to me moving and the weather being too cold after I was done moving, then it got put off again due to the industry going topsy-turvy this spring and some changes being made at the Pond.

I offered the trip to Confucy since I couldn't go immediately back then, but she wouldn't take it.

I admire those who like to share their pictures. I saw Vick, his wife (exwife), and his son in pictures. I have seen Serge and LL show us some outstanding travel pics with them in the background. Lee Noga shares her fishing pictures with us. Mike and Katie go on photoshoots and share their work and personal pictures with everyone. And I can't leave out Forest. After Hollywood Internext, I never saw so many pictures in my life of one person, Forest. The boards wouldn't be nearly as much fun if people stayed entirely private. I think the world can live without my pictures.

I think it comes down to the fact that I'm not that proud of some of the things I say, but I do speak the truth although Carrie would like to make it look like I live in a dreamworld. I would prefer confucy go faceless. Now if I meet you and I'm Kimberly, I might not mind a picture or two being taken.

Confucy, you know nothing of Carrie... Not the slightest little fucking bit. I have known Carrie since back in 97 or 98..... She was running websites and doing HTML design back then, but for the mainstream side of the net.... She and her husband are both very nice people and they have a wonderful caring family.... They are quite self sufficient...... I believe (and this is conjecture because I have never asked Carrie straight out about this) that she turned to adult webmastering because, as many folks have found out, it is a hell of a lot easier and quicker to make money from your web skills on the adult side of the net then it is on the mainstream side of the net... Especially if you live in a rural area and are trying to make your living entirely "net" rather than having to go into the office on a "9 to 5".

As far as "women with young children being in porn" goes... Which is better, being at home building your websites and hitting the boards, or dropping them off at the daycare all day while you go work for the man ?? And I would argue that as webmasters we are not "in porn, we distribute porn, we talk about porn, we talk about marketing porn, but unless you are "content", you are not "in porn".... What the hell does being a parent have to do with working in the industry? Being a good parent has nothing to do with your job. Don’t even go there. To direct it towards a woman is just fucking sexist.

Part of what I enjoyed about the community surrounding this industry was when I pleasantly discovered that most of the folks I deal with on a daily basis are also husbands, wives, parents and even grandparents. They are real people - not those "icky porn people" that the media tries to sterotype and make the public detest. It was so nice to see that bubble burst and find that the real folks behind the scenes - and how "normal" most of them are.

I guess I just don't understand why someone would think that it's NOT okay for a mother to be involved in the industry. By insulting parents - mothers OR fathers (there are a lot of stay-at-home-dads here too!) - folks who have children and are in this industry - you are insulting a HUGE demographic. I would say more folks on here have children than don't.

That would NOT have been possible with any other job I've had.

I've found that almost w/out exception, the parents in this biz are MORE tuned into keeping their kids away from questionable websites, porn spams, etc. and spend MORE time with their kids than the average working parent.

And maybe it was just a layoff too.... You don't know and I have'nt asked Carrie, so I don't know. I do know that many many layoffs are actual layoffs. After a certain large Web Publishing company went down the tubes a couple of years ago, the company I was working for laid off half the people working for it.... 42 people got laid off... were we fired ? No... It was a matter of , no money coming in therefore we have to cut expenses..

Was the fact that I was laid off and someone else wasn't a reflection of my skills or value to the company ? No. The lay offs were done in seniority order.. Me and a friend had been there 2 years and 1 year respectively.. The two people they kept had been there 5 years and 4 years respectively....

You know I’ve been I the adult industry since the 80’s. My son was very young. During that time I woke up, drove to an office and came home. My adult/porn environment stayed at the office and outside of my home.

She contributed a lot to VNWR at that point (imho)... Because of her background in the web, she outgrew VNWR fairly quickly... at the same time, as most newbies do, she was finding her way around other boards.... She apparently found the Pond to her liking and turned it into a money making proposition.... There is no fault to be found there....

He is only 22. Most of the time he is living on the street. Sometimes he stays with friends, and when he is in the Sacramento area, he sleeps at his parent's home. He attends the hacker conventions and makes a few dollars as a security expert. Unlike Kevin Mitnick, he actually does know how to hack. He has been called a white-hat hacker because he breaks into systems finding major holes, and then he turns around and contacts these corporations and helps them fix the problems. I don't think he charges them. Most are so grateful for his help that they don't have him arrested. He broke into the nytimes, and they seem to be working with the FBI. Mitnick was running from the FBI for a couple of years. He never turned himself in. In fact, one of the investigators who was with the FBI when they arrested Mitnick said that Mitnick was so nervous that he threw up and pissed his pants. That's our Mitnick! Lamo has decided to do the right thing. He has an attorney, and his poor parents are putting their home up as collateral so their hacker son can post bail. We will be hearing a lot about this case. Watch for it on CNN and FOX.

Well... when I posted the fact that a warrant was issued for him... It got one reply... yours....

I do pay attention to how what I post is received most of the time... If it is a topic that looks like noone is interested in, I do not follow up...

I was aware that he turned himself in this morning... Apparently, from what I know of him, he uses pretty much just a browser to do his stuff...

So, I started playing around and pretty much figured out their naming and storage structure.... I found out I could get to any chathost's archive I wanted to and get to any pic I wanted to without ever actually going to the site... They had no or very little security in place.... I contacted them and let them know about the hole... They got pretty rude with me about "hacking" their servers etc.... (eventhough, as far as I am still concerned it was not a hack because they had made no effort to hide their storage scheme)... Upshot of it was that I waited about a week, checked to see if they had fixed the hole... They had not, so I wrote a little proggy and proceeded to download their entire chathost archives.... I then wrotethem a note and let them know what I had done and included some of the pics that were supposedly not available to anyone...not members, not anyone because the chathost had not designated them to be used.. to let them know about it yet again....

Again I waited a couple of days and they still had not closed the hole, so I went onto their boards and let the chathosts know that their archive areas were not secure and that they might want to be careful about keeping their pics out there.... At that point Ifriends noticed...lolol... They got pretty pissy with me, deleting my posts, etc... So, I rang them up on the phone and had a pretty long conversation with someone wo threatened me with lawsuits etc for breaking their non-existent security...etc...

A few days later I got an email apologizing over the whole thing and asking if I found any additional holes to please just contact them privately....

At about that point, I decided that being a nice guy hacker was not worth the time or trouble......

I'm not the kind of person who will tell someone to go to ARS when I think Silvercash would be better for their situation, just because ARS is a sponsor of my employer and Silvercash isn't. I'd like to not have to refrain like that in the future, and self-employment is probably the only way that's going to happen.

There was no secret agreement between me and Serge to further a show. Serge just got really pissed at me, and I understand. So, I would like to take this moment to apologize to Susanne. I could start a separate thread, but then I would be accused of showboating and trying to get attention. LL was helping her husband solve the *confucy* identity puzzle. Sorry, KK, but I am sincere in this apology to LL.

Hey Guys, some of us have to be behind the scenes. Kimmy's photographer promised me he would do a photoshoot the next time he is in LA. Until then, you will have to play with KK's poster, or with each other.

If you are expecting, implants, move along. If you want 40 DD's, look elsewhere. Just give me your fur, Gonzo, or the fur Kimmy used for her layout, and we will see what happens. :wub:
