There is some great peacock bass fishing in South America. 20lb bass are not uncommon. Who is going with me?

Brad,
you didn't get the irony...fuck the fishing,
I can't give a fuck about fish, as long as I don't eat it smoked, broiled, etc,
fishing piranahs is just a spice.
The real interests are:

and Brad,
what are you going to teach your upcoming children?

this?

Bubba Blue (Mykelti Williamson) Shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sautee it. There's, um, shrimp kebabs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo, pan fried, deep fried, stir fried. There's pineapple shrimp and lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich... That's, that's about it.

Serge,
can only recommend Peru had a great time traveling there, as well as in Brazil, Bolivia and Ecuador. Aldo was already a few years ago (back in 78)

Thanks folks :)

In case ya ever go to Machu Picchu, try to stay overnight in Aguas Calients (last stop before Machu Picchu) its a small town down in the valley and taking an evening bath in the hot thermal springs was great. This way ya also can get up to the ruins before the regular turist train arrives.

for some info see:
http://www.andeantravelweb.com/peru/destin...scalientes.html (http://www.andeantravelweb.com/peru/destinations/machupicchu/aguascalientes.html)

Its also a good idea to learn a few phrases of Aymara or Quechua (the locals language), just saying something like hello how are you etc. will work wonders and help in "negociations" and conversations at the local markets.
