Had been about that long for me too. There's so much to see in DC that I don't think I will ever see all I wish to see there. What I need to do is to go for a few months.
Nice pics Colin
Looks like you had a great time
There is so much to see and do in DC - monuments, storied and historical (Government) buildings, botanical gardens, National Zoo, Smithsonians - you could spend weeks there and still not see/do everything
I really enjoy the juxtaposition of architecture, buildings from 3 different centuries all in the same block in places
I'm lucky to live about 35 miles from DC (close enough to easily visit but far away enough to not actually live there)

Great pictures, Colin! Thanks for sharing them with us. :) I haven't been since I was a kid and my son's never been. I'm a sucky parent. :(

Vick,
I thought of trying to get hold of you while there but my trip was pretty hurried. We were only in town for a few days.

Time to go again! :-)
We had a great time. Hell, you can drive. It's just a few fill-ups away ;-)
Colin - understandable
If you're ever in town again send me a line, I know of a few things off the beaten path (like the Einstein monument - actually across from the mall by the Lincoln Memorial)

I know - it's one of those things that's on "The List"....which is filled with things I need to get done, just never seem to have the time. :(
Since he's not enrolled in school this semester and is still waiting to hear from the USAF, maybe this fall would be a good time to head up there! I want to spend at least 2 days at the Smithsonian. :rokk:

Einstein monument
Goddamnit. I missed the "Einstein Monument"? !:-(
Yes, it's a 3.5X lifesize copper bas-relief statue of Einstein
With a star chart on the ground around the statue
