a TRUE bipartisan ticket in CA.?

could this be the future of Politics in the US?

"Lowe became the third high-profile addition to the Schwarzenegger campaign in as many days, following announcements that billionaire investor Warren Buffett (news - web sites), 72 -- another Democrat -- and former Secretary of State George Shultz, 82, had agreed to serve as co-chairs of the actor's Economic Recovery Council. Just what we need... a team of bad actors running California.

Yeah Arnie is starting to turn this into a side show. I am not so certain he is going to the right guy to help out California. It's not that Rob Lowe is a Democrat, its that he is a FREAKING actor - what the hell do most know about anything other than acting?? The vanity of these people!!

Glad I don't live in Cali!

Lowe and Arnold have both been very active in politics for a long time. And not in the Rosie O'Donnel spout off your big mouth about things you know nothing about kind of way either. Both of them have worked in forming government policy so I think their a little different than the average actor.

I do agree though that most actors are buffoons though.

Ulfie, video taping sexual encoutners with 17 year old girls during the Democrat National Convention is the kind of political activity I can support!

HAHAHA

Why didn't he go to jail for that? Can't remember how he got out of it.

He did community service instead of jail time.

Anyone with a brain in Atlanta agreed with this. As I told Forest - this girl had been working a place that hired 18+ workers, was in the VIP section of bar when he met her, had a fake ID, had a mother that let her run wild, etc.

The girl took the tape from the camcorder after everything and took it home as a "prize". It wasn't until her mother found it and wanted some $$$ from Lowe that it became an issue.

I'm not condoning what he did, but when you meet a girl in a bar, with an ID that says she's 18, who's hanging out with a 22 year friend, you'd have to be Miss Cleo to know she was 16-17.

Isn't this what people are looking for in politics? Someone who's not in the system and has pockets lined with special interest money?

I'm all for a newbie politician, how could they do any worse in CA at this point?

Arnold is a R.I.N.O....

Meaning what?

That he is capable of uttering words not approved in advance by the RNC? Or that he does not get a perfect score on the "700 Club" rating scale that is so critical to being a "true" Republican these days? Or does this come from the same line of thought that says the same thing about McCain et al, because one cannot be a fiscal conservative and a social moderate?

I heard Bill Maur interviewed on MSNBC today, and he offered the opinion that the difference between Arnold and Gary Coleman is a matter of degrees. I don't think I'd go quite that far - but he is not completely Incorrect in his remark.

I'll give Arnie credit for at least one thing that distinguishes him from Bonzo's co-star. The initiative he "warmed up" on was at least a feel-good after school program designed to keep kids off the streets (or at least make soccer moms think something was being done). Whether such a plan makes any sense under California's budget problems and restrictions is an entirely different matter - it's still better than the Gipper's initiative, which I'm pretty sure was opposing housing discrimination laws (oh, excuse me ... "defending the rights of property owners").

What the self-appointed Republican purists don't seem to realize is that a flat-out doctrinaire bobblehead that would appeal to the mulahs who manipulate the faithful these days has about as much of winning Statewide office in California these days as I do - and I don't live there.

Todd personaly, I could care less who wins the Cali recall election. I do not live in the State.

I do not think that liberal democrats will be able to solve the problems that the State is suffering from..... but that is for the people of Cali to decide!

Mike,

I don't much care either, a little bit but no biggie.

At this point in there state crisis, I don't think dems or repubs can't fix the problems to quick.

I don't live in California either, but I don't think they will fare any better at the hands of reactionary republicans. California's problems transcend party lines. It's unlikely the situation would be any different if a conservative Republican had been in office over the last couple of years. The legislature's hands are tied in dealing with the fiscal crisis by a number of initiatives that mandate spending - including the one spearheaded by Arnold last year - and others that preclude raising taxes.

What's interesting is that there are at least some conservative Republicans (to be denounced as R.I.N.O., I'm sure, by at least some of the bobbleheads) who think this recall is a very bad idea. Unfortunately for the Morones of the world, being a liberal Democrat is not yet illegal; while it may be legal under California law to put on this dog and pony show, it is truly bad precedent.

I repeat what I've said before. If an evil Hollywood-liberal Democratic representative had personally financed the recall campaign of a Republican governor the howls of outrage from at least a couple of people around here would be almost audible through the screen - even if that governor couldn't pass the TTLT* test for being a "pure" Republican.

I can't wait until that whole state slides off into the ocean. Good riddens. Arnold is polling high right now. Will he win? Don't know, don't care. I doubt he will do much better than Davis. Playing the Terminanor in movies and being one in real life are 2 different things.

first time since this started that arnold doesnt hold an obvious lead

will be interesting

Pd,
You mever change...you're still as full of shit as a Turkey. Fact is, you probably don't even know what a RINO is. You, by embracing the Democommie agenda, emphasize your lack of intellect.

PornoDoggy

The far right in the Illinois Republican party are quite fond of the phrase RINO, actually. See, while I don't agree with those folks, I don't find it necessary to avoid listening to what they are saying, nor to I need to put on a tin foil hat when doing so.

Being accused of having an inferior intellect by anyone who would use phrases like "demacommy" or "liberals and other followers of foreign ideaologies" is a source of great pride for me, not to mention funny as hell.
