1) the guy is bancrupting the country,
we spend like money go out of style tomorrow,
THE MONEY WE DO NOT HAVE!

Cutting taxes was a STUPID idea!
those who are employed, can't give a fuck about few extra $$$ in their pockets,
those who do NOT work, can't benefit from it.

The money would be much better spent and LESS money spent,
if instead of cutting taxes,
the Government used 1/3 of the money for re0training of unemployed and giving them the NEW trade skills,
the skills required by TODAY's economy!

2) we should NOT stay in Iraq...
we can't repeat the same model in the future conflicts..

getting in, removing Hussein,
getting out and showing example to the rest of dictators what we can do,
would cost MUCH less money and serve as better detterent!

Democrats,
this post is copyprotected and CAN NOT be used in the attacks on Bush in the upcomming elections!
;_))))

Serge,
If you would look at it from the proper point of view, the tax rebate was a very small amount. The tax cut is just now taking effect. Face it, ol' buddy...you done hung around the resident Democommies too long. :D :D

Y'know, there's a reason why their party symbol is a jackass. Ask the people of the People's Republic of California what huge and increasing taxes can do. That's why Dufus is gone...

Torone,
you nailed..
tax cut was small and therfore IRRELEVANT for economy,
training the labor force would have been much beter bang for the buck!

..and cost us less money!

1. Tax cut was too small, but it was better than not getting one at all. Anyone who disagrees can send me over his or her tax cut, and I'll deposit it in my account. Oh, I guess it was better than not getting the money back.

2. Spending grew under Bush. The Federal government needs to be cut down to something like $100,000,000 from the $2,000,000,000,000 it's at now.

The problem was not the tax cut, the problem is the politicians in Washington spend OUR money like drunken sailers on shore leave.

Bush has continually given in to Democrats and keeps spending more and more money on social welfare programs - we are going to be a welfare state as large as France soon!

Staying in Iraq and helpin rebuild needs to be done - just like we did in Europe and Japan after WWII. It costs us in teh shrt term, but in the long term if it helps stabilzie region it will be paid back 1,000% times to us.

really?

Germany - our MAIN competitor in Europe,
Japan, our MAIN competitor in Asia...

is your BEST CASE scenario that Iraq becomes our MAIN competitor in the Middle East 30-50 years down the road?

Serge you are still thinking like a man who grew up under Communism!

Competition is a good thing. Economic competition drives the US to get more creative and inventive.

Plus look at German and Japanese economy past 10 years.... Germany has such a large welfare state they cannot get anything done ( US is following) and the Japs have so much corporate welfare that they cannot get anything done.

If the US stays the way it should - not a big welfare state - a Country that allows for the free flow of capital and rewards risk takers - the US will always be on top.

Competition that I worry about is Global - and this is coming from China in the next 40 years.....

Oh and Serge, unlike Germany and Japan - I think Iraqi oil should help the US pay for the expenses of building the country.

Is there some reason we can't send in the IRS to tack down all these hidden funds of Saddam's and make him pay to rebuild his country? All the money was taken from his citizens anyways, that and start selling off the 24k gold bathroom fixtures. Aside from that any deficits can be made up by opening that oil pipeline wider, how long till gas is .50 a gallon?

50 cent per gallon gas?

That will happen within 30 days of Mike AI joining the Socialst Workers Party.

MikeAI,
have you ever given a thought over organizing security of an animal called pipeline?

yeap, I grew over the Comminizm,
but you managed to escape all military doctrines and related subjects
;-)))

kinda hard to pay for anything with piplenes going up in smoke every day with no end in sight...

I have a feeling that I know a little more about guerilla wars than you do,
there were 3,000,000 guerillas in Soviet Union during the WWII,
including some of my house neigborghs

Serge its only been 100 days or so...... lets regroup here in 5 years and evaluate where Iraq is.

Sometimes we have a hard time seeing the big picture on issues. With 24 hour news, and pundits spinning every little issue into oblivion - it is hard to sit back and look at big picture.

Are things going perfect? Nope - they never do. However, we have traditionally figured out our mistakes, learned from them and adjusted policies.

PD - it's not 50 cent gas. You are such a moron. It is gas at MARKET PRICES ( cheap gas would cause more problems then it would help). The profits from the oil in Iraq goes to rebuilding the country!

5 years at the cost of $5bils a month we are talking ...

.3 TRILLION DOLLARS @ ZERO inflation

MikeAI,
where those money gonna come from?

I don't know about your nest egg,
but mine CAN NOT take care of Iraq and the rest of the world...which is of course Clinton's fault,
if he lowered taxes in 1997,
I'd probably could finance it for a few days

I was born in 1957, 12 years after the war ended....
No family in Russia, mine included,
was spared "casualties of war",
there more war memorial museums in Russia than any other place Iever been to.

I spoke with people in person, people who were fighting in the forests of Belarus with Germans and...Germans couldn't do shit with all their might,
all their military superiority and full possessiosn and control of cities.

Kovpak's People's Army in Ukraine was over 1.8 million men and women,
operating sucessfully thru out the war...

All the money that was already found in Saddams homes is being used to rebuild Iraq. That's where the oil money is going to go as well. Also, I thought the main pipeline in Iraq went to Syria and was illegal under UN resolutions. If that's the case then I don't see it being reopened anytime soon.

Serge you cannot compare German occupation of the USSR and the United Stated in Iraq....

I am bullish about our economy. I think we have some issues to work out, but if economy heats up we will be in good shape.

I think if you wrote down the biggest problems confronting the US in each of the last 10 decades, you'd find the current one about average.

1910s WW I
1920s Pretty good decade. Too good? Ended on a sour note.
1930s Depression
1940s WW II
1950s Korea
1960s Vietnam
1970s Stagflation
1980s National debt
1990s Boy bands?

Mike,

our economy right now is hurting bad. Sure I know the unemployment #'s are down, markets have had a little burst but some are saying we could have a bad 2004?? Inflation, Deflation I dunno. I am no pro at all at that stuff.

Wil dean turn into a clinton and move to the center, possibly. Everyone keeps calling him very left, but actually he isn't so left. Only State and Gov. to balance his state's budget with out a requirement from the state constitution. He is pro gun and is the only dem I belive endorsed by the Nra. Of course he does belive in health care for all, and pro choice, etc, etc.

I still love Kerry over all, but we shall see.

Oh yeah, yes I can...

from pure Guerilla war point of view,
it has more similarities than differences,
as a matter of fact,
Iraq is WORTH..

Germans KNEW exactly the forests the partizans were,
we do NOT know where guerillas hide in the cities..

therefore,
don't say things you can't back up,
and Guerilla war fare is MY territory

why?????

where exactly you see pent up demand for good and services?

the population is getting older,
it accumulated it's wealth already, and besides medical services, I see no pent up demand despite all the brokerage headlines

The euphoria of the 90's reminds me of the euphoria of the 20's.

Will we end or did we end on a sour note??

Guess that depends on how long the Nasdaq a guy was or how the next few years pan out.

theeconomy and the financial markets are not the same thing. ACH processing is not very economically limited with a company our size, so I don't worry about the economy that much.

Markets are a different story.

LOL

But, 10 years, let alone 33 years really sucks if you are trapped in equities that pay no dividends and who, in many cases, will be out of business by the time equities get really rolling again.

They won't do it now because they don't have the nuts or the foresight, but they would be better served to take it in the stain and buy gold until further notice.

Of course, what the fuck do I know?? :yowsa:
