Boycotts can be effective in many ways
What do you all think about this situation?

At one time, I posted that I might have done the same thing in their position; but I am leaning heavily toward the idea that they are destroying the adult industry. Maybe even 'in cahoots' with Acacia...I am seriously looking at dropping them as sponsors.

Did CE really side with them?
Wasn't that a fatal act if it's true.

They will destroy the adult industry as we know it I believe
CE DID sign with acacia
I think that some of the companies, which have been meantion as to paying the extortion fee from Acacia have been surprised that Acacia would use them as "poster boys" leaving them with a "bad image".
I´m sure some of them will support IMPA to both help their image, and to stop Acacia making more extortion attempts at their business.

It dont agree with you
BUT
It serves them right if its true
What's not being considered here is the "terms" any of these companies agreed to with Acacia
For all anyone knows (outside of Acacia & said companies) it is possible that said companies could be receiving compensation in the form of stock, a non-litigation agreement, cash, free lifetime license (the patents expire in 2010, I believe) and or any of the above or other forms of compensation to allow Acacia to publicly state that these companies have licensed with them

I cant read the minds of and don't know the various reasons of the companies that settle with Acacia.. and i think Acacia is the scum of the earth. I think they represent what is wrong with the american legal system.
BUUUTTT
I sincerely doubt that shares have been issued to anybody... and I am positive that IMPA will prevail in this case.... and probably sooner than later.
What i think is important is that anybody who is/will/may be targeted next either make the decision to declare bankruptcy or begin building a warchest because if you get targeted you will pay, whether it is the license agreements or the legal fees.
The point I am trying to make is just because Acacia claims some companies as having licensed with them doesn't mean Acacia has collected any fees nor that said companies have paid any fees
anybody who is/will/may be targeted next either make the decision to declare bankruptcy or begin building a warchest because if you get targeted you will pay, whether it is the license agreements or the legal fees.
Very true, all part of the cost of doing business

I think you are better off donating $ to the IMPA and keeping public comments on the down low for now.
Let the IMPA do its thing. If you do not want to do biz with CE, then don't. They have sucked for years, and it has nothing to do with them signing a deal with Acacia.

How hard would it be to find out EXACTLY what Acadia is offering those that settle? Contact them with a desire to settle and see what they say.
Personally, I don't think those that are settling are being offered anything more than knowing they won't be paying millions of dollars in retroactive fees and I don't see the point in boycotting without knowing the FACTS instead of the suspicions.
