MSNBC last night...Kieth Olberman really made the guy from hunting bambi look like an idiot on national television....

MSNBC reports that the whole thing was just a made up event to help get traffic and sign ups to the website...

They claim that this was a big hoax...and if were true would be highly illegal in Nevada..

The mayor of Las vegas Oscar Goodman even said " this is all a big scam" and that he plans to have the authorties look into it...

So my question is if this guy from the hunting bambi is convicted of fraud...how smart was it for him to take this path?

share YOUR thoughts on this subject

I willing to bet the profits will outway any legal problems he might face....

Yeah I would think so, its not a major issue....

The major issue is how fast the newsmedia was quick to report it!! hahaha Shows how ignorant they are, and how quick to report on anything without doing real investigative resporting!

Not if they sieze his assetts...assetts begotten by fraud are not the convicts to keep

plus they will have restitution to pay to the defrauded parties involved...

Fraud is not a simple " you get a fine , and you go home " type of crime...there are repercussions...!

The Defense is simple, It was a movie!

If he gets convicted of fraud, does that mean people can sue other movie makers for producing movies of stuff that is not real?

I think any attempt to charge this guy with fraud will get dismissed out of hand. How is what he is doing any different from any of the mainstream "reality" shows?

Reward VS. Risk

controversy gets attention which in turn helps sales

The problem with this answear is 1.) he never put a disclaimer..in fact he has made it out to be all true as his method of hyping it.

2.) He was asked point blank was it real? last night on national TV he said YES it is all real...he didn't even bother to lie like clinton and use deception and plausable deniability...

He chose the Bush route...fuck it just lie then tell them they a stupid for not believing you no matter what the evidence says.

They hahve a store set up on the site http://www.huntingforbambi.com and a menu item to book a hunt (price $6,000.00) if you click through to buy it, it takes you to a shopcart item of a "deposit" of $2500.00...

If you clieck through on that, you error out because of a problem with the shopcart item (looks like they do not have their store set up properly(, but it looks like they are trying to take real bookings to me....

What were the reasons that it would be illegal ??

I dont know of any law that would stop it from happening other than "Public indecency" type things....

Is there a law that says you can't let someone shoot you with a paintball gun ?? If so, then a lot of paint ball operations are out of biz...

They could switch it to a laser tag type operation.... Would that be illegal too ?

Or if they want to keep the paintball effect (marking the prey) they could go to some custom super soakers and spray some non lethal type dye at the Bambis....

Anyway, it appears from the site that the main focus is selling the tape/dvd... Not the actual hunt....

It has nothing to do with fraud, this twinkie made Goodman look bad on CNN, you just DON'T do that to Goodman and get away with it ;-)

Remember who some of his biggest clients were before he became the mayor ;-)
