Thought this was interesting, from D$ Show.

Lensman: "Do a brother a favor and if you enjoy our party at the next Internext, send us (AdultPlatinum) or CECash (the other sponsor) traffic so we can pay for the thing. These days with the new economics, every dime we spend has to return a half a cent [extra]."

probably shoulda thought about that before training webmasters into expecting free alcohol & strippers in exchange for NOTHING but being a webmaster ...

my father used to do that too.. "goddam it, i gave you a nice new XXX for Christmas and you show your appreciation by refusing to go inside the house and find the leaking gas line and try to fix it?"

thats why i dont like holidays. i am scarred for life.

Throwing a large scale party at a show is the biggest waste of money, trust me. ARS does it right, last year in Miami they had a first class party with limited invites, not too crowded.

Much better off doing something on a small scale. In Miami, we have the wine cellar in the steakhouse each night for a private dinner, 10-15 people. Will get alot more business done there, and spend alot less than throwing a drunk fest.

:D Everyone who throws a party is saying the same thing - but, at least he is saying it out loud........... and not as subletly.

I think many have tried to limit numbers for a long time by passing out invitations, and then get carried away and give them to about everyone. Why? Because webmasters seem to get thier feelings hurt if they aren't invited, and the sponor is afraid to alienate anyone.

Private parties are the thing of the future. So, everyone might as well get used to it. The large parties may be a way of branding, but sure are hard to measure and tough on the ROI. I am not sure that webmaster loyality can be bought that way. Newbies may give the program a try, but the bottom line is what buys loyalty.

Come on Brad, don't you enjoy hanging out with a thousand other guys in a dance club with music blaring so loud you can't get anything done?

As far as biz is concerned I'd much rather sit down, share a meal with some folks and spend the rest of the evening in my favorite business "seminar" which is conveniently held at Cheetah's.

As far as I can tell everyone left in this biz is a big boy/girl and can buy their own drinks, keep payouts high, shave to a minimum, and put the comps in my check.

Cheetah's. ?? What is that a nice resturant to have dinner and talk ?

I might have to try that one time.

Mike I think if other companies took after us things would be a lot better, We have all the guys in the office stand on the corner with buckets that say need to send a webmaster to a party, we usually get about 15 bucks a day, that pays for the six pack and the chips... AND that is why our parties rock !

Off to shake the can for some live entertainment, last year Brad in a thong did not work : (

Billy, this is why I alway cut coupons, and saved up spare change for our parties. I would not want anyone to feel pressure to have to so business with us. Infact, our parties are for our friends to meet each other, and hopefully do some business....

Think we can scrap together some $$ for a party in Hollywood? I know Buff wants to do something.

Maybe we can give rides in the Escalade!! hahaha

Funny thing is the few conventions I attend I only attend parties/affairs/functions of either long time friends or those I do business with - which are usually one in the same

Not real into crowds, loud noise and playas

I think he meant CHEETOS! And you and Michael have done quite well scraping up enough change to provide them at all the parties. :)

Amazes me that so many business people like huge crowds and music so loud you can not talk to the person next to you. Good to see some players moving away from that.

And Billy, if I show up in a thong, I can think of several people who will not attend for sure! Would save some $ though!

No one likes loud music?
Damn, better cancel the planned Slayer headlined party for January then :(

I guess playas don't mosh......

Since when do you have to be a webmaster to get into a D$ party?

I wonder with the new Visa regulations and the fall out if Lensman and Ron are going to cut back on their party, or will they expect more traffic...

I was planing on just showing up and eating and mass drinking until I puked on a few guests and then making a small scene. Really I just show up because I'm an alcoholic looking for free booze.

We are also suppose to send traffic their way too???

Yeah...it takes diplomacy for every Big Dick Black and friends in town to find out that theres a party going on and they might be able to push up against some porn star pussy.

BTW you know if they is porn stars that means that the booze and cooze will be endless right?

All I know is if I did happen to get in after waiting 3 hours only to have Big Dick Black feeling up my date....Id be pretty pissed.

But like I said before...it aint D$'s fault. Just ask him.

Sorry I can't make this party as I'm already going to the ARS one.

I've been told that they will have lots of corn to eat for that really good textured puking experience. I just hope that there is enough alcohol left for everyone else after I start my drinking…
