This guy is just mean..lol...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would've said "wretched excess," but that's a worn-out phrase -- something Rowling has trouble recognizing
....
her boundless success is gutting her prose. She needs an editor like the Hulk needs anger management. She needs a human X-Acto knife to slice the surfeit.
....
Each book in Rowling's series has been longer than its antecedent. She plans two more. At this rate, volume seven will be 1,200 pages. The trite term for that kind of tome is "doorstop
....
But then Rowling's story mires itself in page after page of indecision. Watching this yarn trying to find its way is like feeling a mix of distaste and pity at seeing eight tentacles flop around in search of a brain

He does have a strong point (imo) here though:

"Children deserve careful writing because they are -- well, to use a musty word, they are sponges. They absorb everything. Why expose them to mediocrity and then expect them to grow up to be eloquence?"

I'm only about 1/10 of the way through, but so far, so good.
A little rambly and people new to the world of Harry Potter should read the other books first to understand some of stuff in this one.
