Not even a little bit or in some way? How about the cloud formation or the beauty of the reddish hues in the foreground and center fading to blue and then black at the top of the photo?

So the symbolism overwhelms all other aesthetics for you.

I also view the A-bomb as a crowning technological achievement and one of the pinnacles of human creativity. It is a momentous scientific achievement despite it's ghastly consequences. There is symbolism there also.

When I look at this picture I see the most horrible weapon ever and yet it seems small in comparison to the world around it.

Yes, I have an extremely hard time seperating my knowledge from the image.

If I were seeing it for the very first time with no knowledge of what it represented then I might feel differently...

Much the same with a swasticka.. If I were seeing it without knowledge of the holocaust.. I might say, hey, thats a cool little cross...

But, because I have the knowledge of all the swasticka came to represent I cannot view it without seeing the imagery of the savagery that was imposed upon a group of people in it's name....
