Can't think of a better scenario for David Robinson to retire on.....

I agree 100% BPJ..... Robinson is a class act....

Duncan is the best player to come into the NBA in 10-20 years.

As Walton said, a victory of substance over hype!

and THANK GOD he is retiring. A class act on and off the court but WAY over rated as a player. He was too soft.

Go Spurs!

Big S, While I love Robinson - you are very right. When he first came into the league I was a huge fan. Had his posters, shoes, etc...

But as time went on I realized they he could never bring Spurs to the next level, because he is soft...

Then the Spurs drafted Duncan....

Robinson is a great guy, but not a good enough player to bring the Spurs the Championship alone...

He will go down in history as a good player... but not up there with MJ, Magic, etc.... Though I do think Duncan will be!

Snooooore! What there was a NBA Finals? I don't think many people watched this one, including me although I probably should have...

Duncan totally took over that game last night, he was on the level with any player in or has been in the NBA ever. Complete all around game, fun to watch.
imagine jason kidd with duncan next year, repeat ?

I think Duncan is by far best player since MJ to play in the NBA...

Total game, raises the level of his team, offense, defense, does it all...

A true mark of a champion. Who else does the Spurs have?

Shaq needed Kobe... Kobe needed Shaq.... neither one on their own
could have brought the Lakers a championship.

D-A-V-I-D !
Even if he was a little soft, he will be missed greatly!
The effectiveness of "Twin Towers" shouldn't be under-stated and was KEY to the Spur's success!

That's why I don't think you'll see Kidd in San Antonio, but rather they'll go after another big man (like Jermain O'neal, etc).

With the emergence of Parker and Speedy, who needs Kidd! ??? :awinky:

I agree.... screw Kidd... let him go home and beat his wife some more....

Speedys does a good job, and Parker is young will get more experience... another big guy would be better to get!
