If you are one of our Commerce account holders, you will have received notification of this yesterday. If not, then I am telling you now :)

ePassporte has just launched a proprietary shopping cart system for use exclusively with ePassporte.

You will still be able to integrate any proprietary shopping cart software that you would like to use; the ePcart is designed to give small merchants who relied upon another system for their shopping cart needs, or just for merchants in general who do not have a shopping cart, the flexibility and ability to do multiple item purchases in one simple step.

The shopping cart also incorporates shipping modules and optional, user defined fields, just like you expect from any cart you might purchase or have programmed.

If you need more information about the shopping cart or any other ePassporte products, please don't hesitate to ask. I can be reached at kimmy@epassporte.com, general sales is sales@epassporte.com and if you already have a representative for your existing account, then direct your questions to your salesperson for the fastest response.

Thanks :)

Do a lot of people use this? Are adult webmasters using it as a pay option?

I've seen the name but I don't know much about it. I noticed that it dosn't have rebilling in the cart so you can't use it for subscriptions.

Is anyone using this now?

Dianna, I am in the process of setting up an account for using epassporte in our webmaster programs and eventually on our paysites as a signup option.

We switched all of our paysite join pages from ibill to epoch last night.

Epoch & Epassporte both have a relationship with visa that is obviously more co-operative than with other processors. Quite simply, I want to be where visa is involved in the development process as much as they are with the Epassporte system. If we were more organised here we would have had this already as a payout option for webmasters ...

Over the past month, i've been reading a lot and trying to understand exactly what epassporte is ... I am still trying to set up my epassporte surfer account, process is a pain in the ass, but I can see already that the potential is huge despite the teething problems.

The fact that something of this standard is being developed by and for the adult market is an amazing oppportunity for us to legitimize the business that we do in the real world ... For our industry to have a representative in the cc processing business with a solid relationship with a company like visa is something that I didn't think could happen.

I'll try to give a basic summary of what I think the system is & how it helps US ... KK, correct me where I get it wrong, please ;-) and if anyone else has any points to add, PLEASE DO.

There are 3 levels of Epassporte 'account'

1) Online Account Only for customers to send and receive money
2) Online Account with optional visa card to use in ATM's & Online for purchases
3) Business accounts for affiliate programs & selling products using new shopping cart technology

For affiliate programs
-it allows you to pay webmasters in bulk, and they can get their money from an atm
-you can deduct $5 setup fee from what you pay the webmaster and pay directly to epassporte
-you can sell products

For Webmasters
-recieve your money into your 'virtual' bank account, and spend it at an atm
-it costs you $5 to get an account

For Surfers
-you can anonomously purchase subscriptions to porn sites, and things you want to keep secret from anyone else
-you can send and receive funds
-it costs $5 to get a visa card (or $5 to get a virtual account?)

Would love to hear some suggestions on how to incorporate this into an affiliate program and make the most of all of the features ... :D

The docs and signup process has got to be streamlined and smoothed out. It's tough for someone not deeply involved with the industry to figure out what the hell it does and why they'd want it. And from everything I've seen the signup process is a pain in the ass.

There's enough hoops to jump thru to make me put off trying it.

CJ -- excellent synopsis, couple of things that aren't exact but close enough that it works -- :)

HP -- if you are talking about that fiasco with Gonzo's account, that didn't have anything to do with the actual process, which is a rather simple one, and does require some documentation in order to have a commercial type account -- this is mandated by Visa so some things won't change. All those emails after the fact were people trying to be helpful who had no idea what was going on.

In reference to HP comment...

We jumped through a bunch of hoops to add Jettis using our merchant account. We STILL got more signups with CCbill. Now CCBill has some type of credit card quota that's giving me declines. I'm seriously looking for a simple processiong solution that fast, easy and doesn't confuse my subscribers.

I looked at this and I'll probably check it out but not sure if I'm that quick to start it up.

KK I've been ranting and raving about a general card, this type of debit system that MC/Visa can't say shit about. I think it's a great idea even if in it's infancy. You should offer a Master Porn card with special perks & bonuses for the webmasters and members.

I'd like to see Mc/Visa start telling people HOW to spend their money. lol

Actually, I dont mind jumping thru a few hoops, it goes with the territory. All of the processors are requiring more and more. The contracts get thicker and thicker. They have to in order to cover their ass and weed as many scammers as they can.

That's on the webmaster side though. It needs to be as painless as possible for the users. There's a major trust issue to begin with, and the first time the process starts to look like a monkey fucking a football, they're gone.

...only problem Ive had out out Kimmy so far is getting them nekkid pics she promised me.

ePassporte Tips
1. Deal with Kimmy - she lays the smack down on any problems.
2. Make sure your selling hard goods or something that can be downloaded like content etc and doesnt have a recurring charge.
3. Get your shit out of pay pal. If you think Im bullshitting you ask Joe over at the Gallery People. If your account remotely smells of pussy they will eventually shut it down. And it really doesnt matter if you have a email or letter from any high ranking PalPal exec. When you cant get to thousands of dollars you'll understand what I mean.
4. The success of ePassporte is going to come from webmasters like us giving the users a reason to get that card. I believe you can give them an incentive that will move them off a regular Visa and on to an ePassporte.
Ive got some ideas that I have to impliment before I can elaborate further.

Right now Im done drinking for the last 2 days...so I should be sharper in a few hours.

What you are describing was called a 6card.
It died due to lack of funds.

However between myself and HP we can reanimate it if someone had a chunk of cash to throw at it to give it a real run.

As drunk as I am ...Im also serious.

Im betting ePassporte will evolve into what we had envisioned.

Keep your eyes on whats going on DV. And for sure on Oprano cuz the information will come out here first.

You aint blaming me for that one.
The bitch got what she deserved when she decided she was gonna drink one of them evil martinis that Kimmy kept emailing me about on the text pager.

It just goes to show that you can take the gal out of the laundry mat and put her in a country club but she still will act like a fool if she gets dizzy from watching the spin cycle.

I disagree ...
ePassporte is a long way from replacing paypal ... I am gradually phasing over between the 2, but I'm not going to follow the 'sky is falling' idea that PayPal is going to ban accounts randomly because they smell pussy. I use mine for processing poster & merchandise sales on ImogenBailey.com, sending money, paying invoices ... even though I agree of the risk if you are processing adult transactions, I can't see anyone being able to drop paypal and replace it smoothly with ePassporte.

4. The success of ePassporte is going to come from webmasters like us giving the users a reason to get that card. I believe you can give them an incentive that will move them off a regular Visa and on to an ePassporte.

I agree ... I am looking at using it entirely within 6 months, provided they can improve the service to the standard of paypal ... But we have to be realistic, paypal has had a huge head start on the market, and I get the impression that ePassporte isn't really 'finished' yet ... as in, I don't think it was ready for the market ...

I will be supporting ePassporte in every way possible, can't wait to see what they come up with

Pay Pal took off like wild fire. I remember seeing it, starting my account and suddenly everyone was using it. In the beginning all new purchases had to take extra steps to subscribe via Pay Pal. Since the processing % was so low I drop the price on Pay Pal purchases. Later that wasn't a good move because they froze all my money and I'm still waiting. It's slowing being released.

What about the Mc/Visa (I'm still half a asleep for give me) contrract requirements, etc. I'm I going to be told I have to pay more money later to use this for my adult sites?

Hell Puppy

Paypal has already made it known they will no longer process adult subscriptions. That was effective last month.

What GonZo is referring to is a case of someone who was using Paypal strictly for B2B, but it was all adult B2B. This guy was doing graphic design and letting people pay thru paypal and despite assurances from higher-ups paypal, they froze his funds and shut him down.

Now there may very well be more to that story than meets the eye. But Paypal has always been quick to freeze funds if there's a lot of money involved and/or there is "unusual" activity, complaints, etc. And it's pretty clear they do not want to be associated with adult. The key to getting along with them seems to be staying below their radar.

I'm still using them myself, it is an excellent payment tool, but I am very cautious to sweep all of the money out of there on a very regular basis.

We had an issue with PayPal some months ago, and part of the agreement we made with PayPal, was that we would not meantion anything about it - except that it has been solved.

However I hope that someday all adut companies will use epassporte as its much better not to keep all egs in one basket.

Keep in mind that Paypal's had three years to evolve into where it is now. It also had some business that may come back to haunt Tyler and the rest of the management before it's over...

And no, ePassporte isn't perfect yet.

And even when it is as close to perfect as it can be, there will still be the occasional miscommunication between people. At least in this instance instead of having to email some faceless support department, you know who you are dealing with and how to get ahold of someone that can help you and quickly.

And on that note, did anyone else get run over by a truck, errr, I mean go to a bachelorette party last nite?

HP--

I told em all last year after talking with the drunk paypal crew in Florida...."Paypal has no intention of stopping adult biz."

If they dont want to listen to me I dont care.

Its more fun to say I told ya so anyhow.

Nah, not your twin, but I'm sure you know the type.

Big hair, glasses on a chain around her neck, Lincoln Towncar in the parking lot and feet crammed into a very expensive pair of shoes that are at least 4 sizes too small.

I think they were having a garden club meeting or something. GonZo quickly found out she was a party animal after a couple of drinks.

I still haven't recovered from the site of that ass shaking. It was like two pigs fighting under a blanket.

I just thank god there was not a karaoke machine there.
