That is cool, wonder how long it took for them to set it up?

Is it real? Or is it digital?

Apparently it's 100% real and it took them 605 takes to get it right.

Click on the links and it will tell you all about it - and yes, it was real :)

When we were little, my brother got a game one Christmas called "Bing Bang Boing" (or similar). There were heavy silver balls and you had to set the thing up so the ball would go down certain chutes, bounce on rubber drums, etc. At the time, we had a 60 foot long slate foyer. I come from a family of engineers and all Christmas day about 5 of them set that thing up to see how far they could get the ball to travel. :yowsa:

When I first saw that link, I sent it to my brother and Dad and told them that if only my brother had mastered Bing Bang Boing, he'd be in demand. :biglaugh:

Rube Goldberg returns.... :yowsa:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
The commercial, which runs two minutes, is called
"Cog," and was created by the London office of Wieden
& Kennedy, the agency of record for the Honda Motor
Company account in Britain.

The commercial is real, filmed without special
effects, computer-generated or otherwise. It took 606
takes for each step of the lengthy process to occur as
it was supposed to. Estimates of the cost to shoot the
spot are as much as $6 million.

Each tiny step or move in the spot was carefully
choreographed, meaning that if a part did not do what
it should, the filming had to be resumed from the
start. That happened 605 times before that magical
final take.

At one point three tyres, amazingly, roll uphill. They do so because inside they have been weighted with bolts and screws which have been positioned with fingertip care so that the slightest kiss of kinetic energy pushes them over, onward and, yes, upward. During the pre-shoot set-ups, film assistants had to tiptoe round the set so as not to disturb the feather-sensitive superstructure of the arranged metalwork. The slightest tremor of an ill-judged hand could have undone hours of work.
