It's been 4 and a half hours since I've given up smoking. I put my remaining cigs and lighter on Voodooman's desk to see if he wanted them, what does the fucker do? He puts it back on my desk. Thankfully we have another smoker in the office I just gave it too.

Not as bad as I thought it would be. I do have the cravings, but it's mostly because of habit. Nothing painful at all so far. Okay, maybe I have a bad attitude today, but hey, everyone can fuck off, understand? :P

Anthony - don't know if you're a patch man or just going cold turkey
I quit for 5 months using the patch (and like an idiot started back up)

Also serious physical activity helps keep the cravings down
Guess you'll be working out hard as usual tonight or even harder
Going to have to watch your food intake too but guess you already know that
Good Luck to you

Good luck anthony you can do it!! I quit in March of 2000 and haven't had one since!! (well except when I was really drunk and Serge brandished a pack of cohiba cigarettes he brought back from vacation ... I couldnt resist that one ;-)))

But you can do it dude .. just stick with it! By week #2 or 3 the edge starts to wear off a bit ..

I smoked and chewed for about 15 years...

Quit April 4th 2001 anthony using Zyban.

I have the occassional cigar at a convention... but only after a few years of being away from smoking.

Funny though.. how hard it is to "not" do something? Would be nice if making $$$ was that hard "not" to do :)

Kewl thing about quitting is that if you smoke.. you did it... you picked it up, you lit it, you inhaled it.. nobody else ever to blame.

*KK*

Good luck with it Ant!!!

Ahhh the joys of being a non smoker... Voodooman goes out to have a smoke, I ask him.... "Don't you think you smoke just a bit too much?"

Payback is wonderful...

voodooman
05-30-2003, 09:25 PM
Im still scratching my head trying to figure out what your paying me back for.

For you people that have quit smoking, how long till the bitchyness goes away?

You will feel better after some physical output.....

And Voodooman will be safer......

Or, you could do us all a favor and go visit with DUCK for a bit... It would probably be good for him

I honestly think that nicotine is the MOST addictive drug.

I stopped 15+ years ago - before the gum, patch, zyban, etc. - just did it cold turkey. Thankfully, the ONLY time I have the urge is when I've had a few drinks. I'll take a puff or two, and that's more than enough.

Or....you could quit the way I got my son to quit when I found HIM smoking. It combines eating and smoking :awinky: but it works - at least it did for him! B)

I'm proud to announce... 2 days and still going strong! One more day and it's totally out of my system.

I still get pangs for a cig, like when driving. But I just break out a sugar free gum and I'm good. I definately couldn't have done this a year ago. It takes a clear mind without a doubt.

As for rolling and doing the Gracie thing. I am a bit technically advanced then Voodooman, but not much, he'll be catching up really fast.
Last time he and I rolled was after a war with Dig for about 5 minutes straight which ended with an Dig's elbow jammed into my nuts. My fault, I sat down too far away for the arm bar. I didn't have the juice to fully beat on Voodooman after. Next time we roll, we'll go first.

I've been smoke-free for almost 15 year and it's still hard when pressure situations arise...I think tobacco was harder for me to quit than coke......

You can do it Ant....hell, I lasted around you guys smoking all the time in BC without caving in and my will power is weaker than yours...although I still enjoy a good cigar on occasion, but I'm a cigar snob....

Well, I tell ya what. Quitting smokiing is actually easier to do than quitting Blow. Both of which I am happy not to do anymore, and never will.

Last month I had some really bad mental images of being oblong round fat, wearing a couple of double chins, chain smoking, drinking a scotch, saying that people who work out are just insecure fucks and should be just happy the way they are.

That Image scared me so bad, smoking is gonna be easy to beat!

3rd day today. Piece of fucking cake! I can say that I am now not addicted to Nicotine.

I am a Non Smoker! I'll try not to be one of those obnoxious non smokers who preach the evils of cigarettes.

Ant has done such a good job of quitting, I can call him a quitter now.
:P

Honestly, hes been great, a little cranky on day one, less day 2 and today, well, I have been gone all day, but what I did see of him, he seemed ok.

He even lets me smoke in the office when he is there.

:D

Good Job Ant!!!

As for the video and rolling and putting me to sleep, well, we'll just have to see bout dat, Im an imsomniac.

Good Going Anthony...

Yes 3 days is a good amount of time....

I really need to quit AGAIN myself........

I haven't smoked in my truck yet :) And it has been 2 and a half months so far... I swear that if I moved into my truck I could quit :yowsa:
