porterhouse steak which even puts Peter Luger to shame!

the last piece from near the bone, very rare,
left memories in my mouth to last me a very long time

Sharky,
do you know that they don't serve "well dones" for the fear of sacrelige?

mmmmmmmmmm - I love that place. It's been years since i've been there. I have a huge book/wine list from there that must be 12 years old. Do they still have those?

the wine list is thicker than Gideon's Bible!
600,000 bottles collection,
the BIGGEST private collection and we even found my all time favorite 1997 Swanson Merlot!
(had to send the second bottle back, though, cork and the bottle was compromised)

there should be something that happens when someone asks for a steak cooked past medium ... like a red light goes off over their head and the whole restaurant turns to look at them & knows they are a steak destroyer.

Dinner was great Serge....

I told you Bern's was a unique place.... best steaks in the world, best wine collection in the world.

Definately will have to do an Oprano dinner there soon!!

Serge - I've ordered well done there before..
Last time we went with MikeAI and Katie they talked me into Medium well.
I'm now eating steaks medium/medium well. I'm very happy with it:-)

I love Berns Steaks... but Charleys Steakhouse takes the cake. You don't have the same atmousphere as Berns, but you have great steak. Go to Berns if you are looking for the overall experience.

MikeAI - is Berns your new favorite Steakhouse? :-)

Mike AI

Sharky, I think when you took me to Bern's that the waitress talked you in to medium... because there is no blood... :D

I have been to Charleys as well here in Tampa....

But Berns is better....

Ruth's is still my favorite overall, because they have great apps and side dishes...

But just the MEAT - and WINE - NOTHING BEATS BERNS!!

I am glad you introduced me to the place!!

I make it a point to try to dine in the best steakhouse in any town I visit.

Berns is the best I've found overall.

If your server ever offers you a tour of the place, be sure to take it. The seafood tanks and wine cellar are most impressive.

I've always wanted to try some of their fish, but I cant bring myself to pass up the steak.

And their dessert menu is almost as thick as the wine menu.
