another war?
IMO. There will be no official war from the US. There will be more focus on Iran in hope that someone in Iran will seize the momment and take power from the religious leaders. US military might even help with some very secret covert attacks to halt any religious lead army trying to take power back, but no war... there are no need for war - Iranians can do it themself.

Rolo I think you are right.... so far the policy seems to encourage others to make the move in Iran... apparently there is a middle class that is not happy on the way things are going. It would be nice to be able to just exert pressure from the outside without sending in our military to remove the Iranian regime...
If not, we have them surrounded on 2 sides.... :D :salute:

War in Iran would be catastrophic even for US army, vastly powerful as it is now. The terrain is very rugged and it favors the defender overwhelmingly. If this is anywhere on the administration's agenda this would be suitable for an Armageddon scenario.
I agree with the posts above though, there are democratic forces inside Iran that are anxious for something different. A wise administration will try to fuel this fire first.
Us effort to destabilize Iran is simply counteracting Iran's efforts to destabilize Iraq and Afghanistan via turbaned clerics and bearded ayatollahs by the dozen.

Well, Rumsfeld did say there was "Definitely Al'Queda leadership in Iran, beyond a doubt", so he must be right and we must do everything in our power to get rid of those nasty Iranian leaders... I mean he said that
there was "definitely Weapons of Mass Dectruction in Iraq".......
