Update on the design broker scandals

Sorry to bring this to the boards but what else can one do? It's been well over 18 months now..... Teen Angel (AKA: Ricki Lee) has been fucked over royally by two people. They know who they are, and if they think anyone has forgotten their little bullshit treatment of her they are sadly mistaken.

Buck Naked a.k.a. Pensfan

I recommend that no designers do design work for these two monkeys until it is posted here that they have paid Ricki Lee what they owe her. I further recommend that no one use either of their services until this outstanding delinquency is resolved.

Hungryman once complained that if he isn't getting any work then how can he pay his debts?.... well, I backed off then to allow him to earn that money.... he never paid her.

Pensfan/Buck Naked told me man-to-man that he WOULD pay her. He spoke of making smaller payments to her until the debt was covered, and TA confimed to me that that would be fine. She has to date received not one single payment.


Time to suffer.

If any of you care about the level of professionalism and trust in this industry, you won't forget what has been done to Teen Angel here. This isn't right, not by a long shot. I still can't beleive that two otherwise likeable guys have saw fit to treat a very talented designer so shabbily. Frankly, I'm disgusted.

Ya know...Ive seen this thread before and everytime I saw the name Hungryman it reminded me of a gif I sent out to win a contest as the most disgusting pic anyone had ever seen. Keep in mind this was around 1984 is but we all called the man in the pic Hungryman.

Does anyone here have a copy of hb2a.gif laying around?

If not Ill go fire up the IBM Mod 80 and let gonzoland live once again long enough for me to get that pic off the drive. It might take an hour to boot but Dos 5.0 still rocks!

Serge, are there perhaps any freelance designers that are members or lurkers here? If so, then I am assuming that some of them would want to know what is happening and what has been going on in that end of the business.

It might also concern anyone who pays for design work.


for the record, I am not out to ruin anyone. If either of those guys comes clean and makes good on their debt, I will never mention it again.... as long as it never happens to anyone I know and like and care about. If it happened to anyone here in a similar fashion, I would be one of the first ones supporting you if you felt the need to bring it public.

Just an update for those interested....

It took up most of my day yesterday, 3 extra-strength Tylenols and 5 cups of coffee, but things are slowly being worked out. I spoke with Pensfan/Bucknaked, and he is now working on paying TA some money, possibly even the entire amout he owes. We will see what comes of that.


I spoke with Hungryman regarding his issue on the phone for an hour last night. We had a very productive discussion, and we have layed out a plan for getting this resolved. It will take time, but I am not giving up on anyone.

Time will tell.

CD - I wondered if you factored in the currency losses that TA has had to accept by these people not paying her.

The post TA made over on GFY yesterday mentioned a figure that was owed to her for work she did 12 months ago. At that stage the Aussie dollar had a better exchange rate against the US dollar - no doubt something she would have factored in to her pricing.

Now the exchange rate is much worse and TA will lose around $300 bucks because that guy forgot to pay her for so long. Its the same price for him but leaving it 12 months means that she will get around $300 less.
