For all those who thought she couldn't compete she's only 2 shots off the lead with a score of 1 under.

TE you can track her hole by hole

http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/story?id=1557324

and the leader board

http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/leaderboard

I do not recognize many of the big name golfers.... where is Tiger and company? is this tourny a big one? or does it only draw the second tier of golfers?

It's quite amusing watching people basically root for her to fail. Looking for ways to validate their preconceived position and not give her any credit. Most people thought she would easily be several shots over par, at best by now (13 holes) and here she is within a few shots of the leaders and playing quite well.

Nah I am not rooting for her to fail, I hope she does well... to be honest I really could care less one way or the other.

I just predicted that she will not finish that high up, probably not even in top 20... and that is not because I dislike women... but the fact that men are better, stronger golfers.... its a physical thing.

My original point is there is a tourny for women, if men invaded it and took money away from professional female golfers I would be saying the same thing.

If she proves she can compete with the men and makes the cut would you still be against her playing in other tournaments?

Yes, many of golf's top names are/will be competing.

http://www.pgatour.com/scoring/r/index.html

Sergio Garcia, Phil Mickleson, Hall Sutton, Jesper Pasrnevik, and several other well known names.

Look over this list http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/rankings?pa...e=worldrankings (http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/rankings?page=worldrankings) and you'll see many top tier players.

TE if she can prove she can play with men, then there should just be open tournys for men and women.... get rid of the LPGA, and then have 1 tourny the PGA...

Then they could have a smaller tournys for those who cannot compete and make the cut in the PGA - for men and women....

I have a feeling there would not be many women professional golfers in any tournies then....

Even if you did that it wouldn't remain that way for long. Women's sports in general haven't been around more than a few decades and if you look around you will notice that they are rapidly decreasing the gap between the sexes when it comes to sports.

TE you are very right, women basketball has made a quantum leap... the WNBA has some wonderful athletes and great ballers... They are playing like guys now... in the old days girls were taught to shoot, pass differently then men... but now they shoot and pass the right way...

Oh look, Annika has dropped to 35..... day is still early, she will no doubt stage a rally.

That's a good point. What has the reaction been from other women golfers? Are they supporting Annika or not? There are lots of women golfers making a lot of money on the LPGA tour right now. I would imgagine that privately there must be a lot of LPGA golfers hoping she falls on her face in the PGA. If she is successful, I assume that would not be good for the LPGA tour.

she finished 1 over with a 71. If the course dries out tomorrow it's going to be rough for her to make the cut imho. But I hope she plays well.

My bad! More power to her!
