Star Spangled Ice Cream Co. Celebrates Iraqi Road to Freedom!

Grateful Americans Welcome Home the Troops with Star Spangled Ice Cream

Signature Flavor 'I Hate the French Vanilla!' Is a Huge Hit

WASHINGTON, May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Hundreds of Americans are welcoming home the troops with Star Spangled Ice Cream, saying "Thank you!" from a grateful nation.

In the six weeks since Star Spangled Ice Cream first went on the market, Americans who love Ben & Jerry's ice cream, but hate Ben & Jerry's politics, have said a resounding "Yes!" to the conservative alternative.

The Star Spangled Ice Cream Company, founded by three veteran members of the vast rightwing conspiracy, offers consumers super premium ice cream in four politically incorrect flavors: I Hate the French Vanilla, Iraqi Road, Smaller Govern-mint, Nutty Environmentalist. Star Spangled Ice Cream can be ordered on the Internet and shipped frozen directly to consumers by overnight delivery.

Ten percent of every purchase of Star Spangled Ice Cream goes to charities that support the heroic men and women in America's Armed Forces. Star Spangled Ice Cream is a great way to say "Thanks" to America's brave men and women returning from Iraq.

"Star Spangled can ship anywhere in the continental U.S. in two days," said Vice President Richard Lessner. "We're encouraging Americans to send a military family Star Spangled Ice Cream to welcome the troops home from the Iraqi Road to freedom."

I dunno. Marketing contemporary niche themes as permanent brands?

"I Hate the French Vanilla"? How long will Americans hate the Fren ... errrrr .. nevermind. ;-)

A consumable marketed as a novelty item.

And ... Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream is the best ice cream around. Wavy Gravy. Chunky Monkey. Phish Food.

 Leaving out Cherry Garcia is noted. Retribution will be swift when the revolution comes.

Most Goth's don't have $
It's the disaffected/disenfranchised thing

Plus then the ice cream would have to be gothier than thou

I still wish I would have thought up Star Spangled Ice Cream Co
Got to love effective marketing

Good news!!! I just discovered that behind all the hoopla the 10% of profits they are donating go to armed forces charities. I'm not exactly sure what kind of moron would consider that a "right-wing" cause, but that's beside the point.

The important thing I can have a scoop of Cherry Garcia and a scoop of Smaller Govern-mint without any nasty pangs of conscience. When you get right down to it, politicizing a basic food group - Ice Cream is a food group, right? - is pretty tacky.
