For those in South Eastern states if you get warnings it's no joke... This storm came through my neck of the woods Sunday evening... Turned south about 1.5 miles from my back porch (thank goodness!) but others weren't near as lucky... Yard is full of debris, insulation and such, all small and chewed up... :(

Mike,

Yeah, growing up in "Tornado Alley" I've had my share of close calls over years... This is first time one hit close enough to see all the stuff raining down outta the sky... Washing muddy chunks of sod and turf off roof was a wee bit disconcerting this morning to say the least... :-(

Yeah, we got hit pretty hard here in Kansas City yesterday afternoon.... The worst ones to come through since 1957... Luckily the first one went about 5 or 6 miles north of me and the second one went about 10 miles south of me (those two were actually inside city limits).... A bunch of others touched down nearby.....

Last death toll I heard for our area was 7 dead.... All in all the news said there were 23 dead between here and Tennessee....

A few years ago I had just watched the movie "Storm Chaser" about tornados, and thought is was awesome. 2 days later we had a tornado watch in my little Alabama town.

Skies got black, winds kicked up, weather warnings said take cover.

The tornado was in site so I got the old 35mm out, tied myself to a telephone pole and clicked away as it wiped out my neighbors house, hopped over me and kept destroying neighbors houses.

Serious rush, great photos...crazy, but I'd do it again if I had another chance.

PhotoGregg:

Damn, with a quote like that you HAVE to be from the south!
How long before your ass unpuckered and buttcheeks relaxed their grip
on the pole?

...lol... Agrees w/ Mike, post them pics, would love to see them too!
