If you are so inclined my wife and daughter are participating in the march of dimes walk in Austin in a few weeks and she is looking for sponsors to help her meet her goal.
March of dimes is a great organization and they use their money to fund research on birth defects, low birth weights, and so many more things.
And even if you dont donate (cmon.. it's just 10 bucks to start) you can see a photo of my daughter on there :)

Donate today, it will make you feel good about yourself :)

what a depressing response...
i guess oprano is largely full of people who like to *talk* about making the world better... no men and women of action :cryin:

Actually, I'm quite active in both the March of Dimes and the Special Olympics.....
I just do things on a local level and don't toot my horn much ;)
That's great though, your daughter will learn a lot from the experience I'm sure...

thats super cool. not enough people give their time (me included).
time and money.. those are the two things that most places need.. empathetic thoughts are like farts in the wind..
everybody has them and they always stink

Yup
Too many people pay lip service to caring and "giving back to their communities" but most times it's just that...lip service.
I try to give equal parts time and money....I tell ya, there is something special about seeing a smile or hearing a "thank you" when you're helping out. I've caught flack for it as "being soft" or other such bullshit, but some people will never know the feeling and probably could give a shit anyways....the same people who wish to god bless me when I sneeze or want to recruit my soul won't lift a finger to help those in need...
I say "good on ya" for teaching your daughter these kinds of things at a young age.

'cmon people, if a small timer like me can step up, I think you ballers should be able to make the pot look decent...
Only $200 left to reach your goal B)
C'mon, pony up, fellas... I've seen some of you bastards spend that much on broads & booze in a few hours!
For :inlove: Morgaine (http://cyber-goddess.com/morgaine/):inlove: , my niece who is miraculously here, hale & hearty today because of organizations like the March of Dimes. :wnw:
