American Immigrant Wall of Honor

The American Immigrant Wall of Honor commemorates the names of more than 500,000 individuals and families. The Wall and much of Ellis Island's restoration were funded in honor of these immigrants by their descendents. From this monument is a view of both the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan Skyline.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
My grandmother and grandfathers names are on that wall.
Was amazing the first time I saw the wall

They handed me down all of their secrets on cooking
:wnw:

My uncle also has one of the largest private italian wine collections in the country.

I am trying to squeeeeze a bottle of '90 Gaja Spress out of him

Bar NONE the best wine I have ever had (but then again there are so many I havent had yet)

:yowsa:

Vintage Chart

France : Bordeaux

Vintage1989
Score 98
Description - Bold, dramatic fruit character; tannic and long-aging
Drink Rec - Hold

according to WS this overall vintage year is the BEST since 1961!!! :rokk: :wnw:

and since the '89 vintage there has only been 1 better rated year out of bordeaux and that was the '00 (AWESOME!!! but too young)

I havent had a bottle of this in 10 years. I found 1 bottle at a wine shop in Marathon key and shared it with family for easter that year.

Found a case of it at an ABC the following week in sarasota and I talked the guy into selling it to me for 26.50 a bottle :nyanya:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH :D :biglaugh:

with a rateing of 95 or higher the increase in value is 150% - 200% from that price

WS says to hold it.

Hemmingway said " a day with out wine is like a day without sunshine"

My uncle Tony says " A day without wine should be Called Off!"

I say " Lets Drink"!!!!!

That's it - dinner @ Forest's house! :)

Wow...what a history. You should be very proud. Most of us American mutts have no idea who we are or where we come from. A strong, visible family line is something to treasure.

I bet you've got lots of great really authentic recipes! :yowsa:
