The economy is slow. Some people say Bush should "fix the economy". What should he do? What would you put in the suggestion box?

Obviously I think tax cuts would be the best, but not sure how to handle it. Since this is tax season now, and I am seeing how much I have to pay in... its UGLY!!

One thing I do know, I need a tax break!!! So I would imagine a bunch of other people do as well!!

i think it depends on your time horizon. politicians think mostly in the short-term, although I think Bush is on the right track in reducing taxes.

In the big picture, if it were up to me I would:

1- SERIOUSLY cut the pork out of gov't like a good ceo would
2- legalize drugs and tax them (invest in treatment with some of the proceeds)
3- correct the education system so we can crank out productive citizens
4- cut taxes
5- create an environment where we reward achievers
6- learn to take the good with the bad and give up the utopian fantasies

This is a terrible misconception about our goverment. The president really has very little control over the economy directly. Indirectly through policy he influences it... but directly he really has a lot less to do with it than the federal reserve does.

Just my 2 cents.

Now.. what is Alan Greenspan gonna do about the ecological nightmares that we're faced with these days?

Hoop, you are very right. The reality though is people think he does have a lot to do with it, and democrats will try to hang him with it.
