Bush - Yale
Condolesa Rice - more degrees than I can shake my dick off
Cheyny - Master Degree in Political Science
why are the ignoramuses always ahead of the "education hunt"?

Note from that snopes page:
"The question posed by the title -- "Who's smarter?" -- isn't so easily answered. Graduating college or holding elected office exposes people to new ideas and concepts and imbues them with practical experience, but those paths don't necessarily make people "smarter," nor is treading those paths necessary for one to become a competent politician or political analyst. Some very highly regarded U.S. presidents had little or no formal education (Abraham Lincoln), did not attend college (Harry Truman), or had no previous experience holding elective office (Dwight Eisenhower), and one (Ronald Reagan) even began his career as a film actor. On the other hand, some very well-educated and intelligent men with experience in governmental administration who served as chief executive of the U.S. (Herbert Hoover, Jimmy Carter) frequently show up on rosters of "worst U.S. presidents." "
Everything is relative.

I cringe pretty much everytime Bush speaks because he is just so abrasive... but i definately agree that Rice, Powell, Rumsfeld, Tommy Franks, Ari Fleischer and most of the rest of his gang are definately bright and competent people to be dealing with the situation they are dealing with. Those guys all are excellent under fire in tough interviews and White House Press Conferrences or "White House Media Ambushes" as i call them. really amazing.

you are happy to constantly point out how many times america has saved the world this century, why are the canadians who died in the past less important now because they haven't sent troops this time?

but they could invade Canada.......
The UN would object of course.Suggest that peaceful means are explored fully instead of use of arms.If only to make military action legitimate.
And probably 75% of the countries in the world would disagree with the use of arms.
But whose gonna stop them? ;)

Canada sent troops to Afghanistan, Kosovo, Korea, and VietNam too. If sending troops to nearly every conflict we have been involved in is not the mark of a true ally, we don't have any.
If we Americans have any doubt who our BIGGEST allies in the world are it's the UK and Australia. Against popular world opinion, they sent their troops to battle and to die for a cause we championed. A difficult cause. The same way us Americans feel about our troops in battle, they do too. Fuck, we in America should all be wearing Australian and British pins right now.
Most of the leaders of countries that signed onto the coalition of the willing did so against the popular opinion of their nations. Those are acts of extreme leadership and bravery. It may mean political suicide for some of them. Over fifty did so anyway.
I don't think there's a "problem with Canada". They have been there with the US over and over. They were there on D-Day, they were there in Vietnam, and they were there in Kosovo. Besides, we owe them for the insult of 1812. <_<
If we truly value and champion the principles of democracy, we should accept and respect the decisions of those that reach different conclusions than us.

Nick it is great to be part of the only Superpower in the world.... We can act unilateraly, without permission of the rest of the world.
Colin, I have no problems with Canada at all... there is a difference between their inaction/nuetrality and the acts of France who spent a lot of time and effort working AGAINST our interests, trying to undermine our posistion.
Nuetral I can handle, or even putting out statements agains it - but when you actively work against us, supply our enemies weapons and supplies ( even when violating a UN BAN, that the French supported) gives me a problem.
It is funny to see how the French are clammering for a key posistion for the UN in rebuulding Iraq.... HAHAHA yeah they will get it. France only wants to keep their lucrative, shady contracts for oil....
Guess what..... not going to happen!!! I guess it will further put the French economy behind... maybe they can hit 20% unemployment...

OK -- Let's just say for a moment you bunch of pampered, overpaid, unrealistic children had your way and the U.S.A. didn't go into Iraq. Let's say that you really get your way and we destroy all our nuclear weapons and stick daisies in our gun barrels and sit around with some white wine and cheese and pat
ourselves on the back, so proud of what we've done for world peace.
Let's say that we cut the military budget to just enough to keep the National Guard on hand to help out with floods and fires.
Let's say that we close down our military bases all over the world and bring the troops home, increase our foreign aid and drop all the trade sanctions against everybody.
I suppose that in your fantasy world this would create a utopian world where everybody would live in peace. After all, the great monster, the United States of America, the cause of all the world's trouble would have disbanded it's horrible military and certainly all the other countries of the world would follow suit. After all, they only arm themselves to defend their countries from the mean old U.S.A.
Why you bunch of pitiful, hypocritical, idiotic, spoiled mugwumps. Get your head out of the sand and smell the Trade Towers burning.
Do you think that a trip to Iraq by Sean Penn did anything but encourage a wanton murderer to think that the people of the U.S.A. didn't have the nerve or the guts to fight him? Barbara Streisand's fanatical and hateful rankings about George Bush makes about as much sense as Michael Jackson hanging a
baby over a railing. You people need to get out of Hollywood once in a while and get out into the real world. You'd be surprised at the hostility you would find out here.
Stop in at a truck stop and tell an overworked, long distance truck driver that you don't think Saddam Hussein is doing anything wrong. Tell a farmer with a couple of sons in the
military that you think the United States has no right to defend itself. Go down to Baxley, Georgia and hold an anti-war rally and see what the folks down there think about you. You people are some of the most disgusting examples of a waste of protoplasm I've ever had the displeasure to hear about.
Sean Penn, you're a traitor to the United States of America. You gave aid and comfort to the enemy. How many American lives will your little, "fact finding trip" to Iraq cost? You encouraged Saddam to think that we didn't have the stomach for war.
You people protect one of the most evil men on the face of this earth and won't lift a finger to save the life of an unborn baby.
Freedom of choice you say? Well I'm going to exercise some freedom of choice of my own. If I see any of your names on a marquee, I'm going to boycott the movie. I will completely stop going to movies if I have to. In most cases it certainly wouldn't be much of a loss.
You scoff at our military whose boots you're not even worthy to shine. They go to battle and risk their lives so ingrates like you can live in luxury. The day of reckoning is coming when you will be faced with the undeniable truth that the war against Saddam Hussein is the war on terrorism. America is in imminent danger.
You're either for her or against her. There is no middle ground. I think we all know where you stand. What do you think?
God Bless America!

serge, you need to move countries again, you are becoming brainwashed.
to dismiss an entire history of friendship with a country (or a person) based on a single event in history is pretty stupid.
especially when you were friends with said country (or person) when they WERE on your side fucking with other countries (or people).

I think CJ is smoking something good!!!
I never made any "female" insults....
I love women....
My insults were to those who were ignorant on foreign policy. Those who think that the USA and Bush are the problems with the world, and let people like Saddam get a free pass.
And really they were not insults... I just am glad so many people can enjoy their standard and quality of life - living in a relatively safe world that MY Country, my tax money, and the blood of my people provide.
I think Serge is right on the money, and he has a much better perspective then any of us. He has lived in both worlds....

Mike, why is it that anyone that disagrees with you (or a number of people around here) have to be "lover of the bad people"... because someone doesn't agree doesn't mean they love Saddam, Bin Ladin, or anything else... that is extremist BULLSHIT that just makes you look like a child.
Your smarter than that, I know it. That is just a dumb and lazy debating tactic, usually from someone in a losing position.

so as long as you insult someone with smiley faces, its ok?
LOL
what a crock!
I like the fact that you take my posts and simplify them by saying I am a saddam lover, because it makes you look like an even bigger ignoramus to those who do take the time to read and think about my views.
you prefer to simplify my opinion to 'america hater/saddam lover' ... there's no facts to base that on, just your inability to think for yourself. I've read a lot of the articles published on the site that you copy your posts from ... you should at least try to change the words around when you parrot someone else's opinion as your own.
the fact that you truly believe your tax dollars and your ... what was it again, 'blood of your people' HAHAHHAHAHAHHA are responsible for my quality of life makes me laugh, HARD.
keep painting yourself into a corner, its fun watching you try to justify your comments with 'girlie' and 'pms' remarks, neatly slotted in so as not to appear like insults.
oh shit, sorry, i should be thanking you for my quality of life

MikeAI,
Your posts are the most insultive I have seen on this chatboard.
I'd like to explain why and give you reasoned arguments to help you understand, but you have afforded CJ none.Merely condesending personal insults concerning her and her gender.I believe undeserved and unwarranted especially with regard to her support of this board and her earned position in this biz.So I'll return the compliment and say......
Goodnight Mike.
Note:These actions would be totally in character for me,btw,as I have the manners of a pig and the morals of an allycat and few ,therefore, would be insulted.
But for "Mr.Moral",that tactic is just wrong.
(Too subtle for you?)

I was having fun, guess sometimes people can get carried away when having fun....
However, I still stand by my original opinions. Sometimes the world is Black and White. In the case of Saddam and Bush, of the United States and terrorists nations, it is EASY to see black and white. I suggest those who cannot see this in black and white go to their eye doctor.

I am proud to be russian born,
Russia is one of the countries who quotes Iraqi information ministry verbatum and doesn't pollute his reports with US propaganda!
we all know that allies are almost defeated and their presense in Bagdad is a product of Hollywood!
Long live Cretin and Canadian Government!
I'll chime in. :P
From a macro level, France, Russia, Germany, et al were involved with Iraq directly through Saddam's regime. This was their "in" for oil, arms and other business deals.
Saddam's regime is supported by a close inner circle with a periphery of citizens who are, shall we say "higher on the food chain".
Pretty basic, but I don't think many would argue with it.
I think that the majority of the Iraqi people will benefit from the removal of Saddam and many of them know it. They are gun shy from the last go around, but once it is apparent that Saddam is toast (if not already) they will turn on the oppressors that prospered at the hands of the dictatorship -- even if it is subtle and over time.
France, etc. will lose out not on regime change alone. They could well lose out with a free Iraqi people. Iraq is a sophisticated country, ripe for positive change (note: this does not equal cultural change).
War... It seems to me that most liberals are against it and most conservatives for it. Most of the debating I have read on Oprano is based on core ideological differences rather than specific circumstances. People mask their partisanship, but it is transparent for the most part.
