French flags no longer are flying high and proud outside the Sofitel Hotel in midtown Manhattan. The French-owned hotel chain, part of the French hotel company Accor whose units include U.S. motel chains Red Roof Inn and Motel 6, replaced the flags with the Stars and Stripes as a peace offering to its American guests.

Bunch of Pussys
Marc Refabert, founder of fromage.com, a Tours, France-based distributor of French cheese with about 8,000 customers in the United States, said he's been getting hostile e-mails from some of his American customers. He's even divided them into three categories -- the polite rebuffs, the "shocking" letters, and some that said "Vive la France."

Nice one of them had to have come from a memer of this board :bjump:

But Serge Bellenger, president of French-American Chamber of Commerce, said that although he's noted a few isolated incidents of anti-French sentiment against French businesses, he doesn't see it rising to a bigger wave against all French products.

"I think the American and French business communities will respond to it accordingly if something like that happens," Bellenger said. "You have to remember that 50 percent of all international trade is between Europe and the United States, and France has about $120 billion of direct investment in the U.S. That's a lot of French business and a lot of money."

Not anymore I say out of 120 billion they will be left with 50% by the time this is over :rokk:

I do not think the French understand what the outcome will be.

The US CAN act unilaterally, without any help, support, or UN. However, we want to work multi-laterally. We are trying to get people to work with us. The French keep working AGAINST us, not only in their own interest, but going out and blocking all of our attempts.

The France NEED the UN, because they cannot act unilaterally - so they need to keep the UN strong, and the only way that can happen is with the US in it. The only reason France is considered a world power is their permanent spot on the security council. Without it, they are not more a world power then Pakistan, India, Australia, Israel, etc....

French are making their own noose, and will be hanging themselves very soon....

Here's another one to add to the list of things to "boycott":

Batteries
The Segway HT uses twin NiMH battery packs, designed in partnership with SAFT (a division of Alcatel),

Alcatel is a french company - so segway is using french technology... bad.

Oh yeah, your dsl modem probably is alcatel too... :-)

Off ya go mike, prove your statement in the real world.

The ironic part is that you think your right, france thinks they are right, but you both have equal chance of being fucked up by a big iraqui bomb.

You can't go it alone, the sooner you admit it the less america haters there'll be out there. period.

*yaaaaaawn*

i'm so tired of hearing about the french!! who cares about the french!! why do you need to keep talking about the french?! do you really care about them so much that you can't stop thinking about them every single day?! if you can do it without them, get over it already!

sheesh

I am pretty tired of hearing how the US is acting unilateraly.

In the Gulf War 1991 we had 34 countries in the coalition to liberate Kuwait.

Right now we have 30 countries with troops in place in the current coalition.

Almost as many countries have signed on to this war, just the ones opposed (for their own financial reasons) happen to *think* they are world powers

War will happen, Husain will be replaced.

Alcatel is dead anyway, their main offices here in Dallas are like a ghost building. I think in the last 2 years they have laid off like 10,000 people.
