Um, er... Colin, you still need to get mine fixed... That should have been a negative, not a positive.....

I am so far from the "right" on almost everything, including economics....

and proudly so.....

Thanx

Colin, since you have the numbers... can you calculate the actual average and statisically centered right and left? I could be wrong, but it looks like one side has alot more on the more extreme end of the scale... :-)

editted to add: Also, can you calculate where the middle of the pack is? Where does Oprano really sit, on average (ie: where is the 0 really at?)

Alex

More America haters at GFY than Oprano. I truly would ban them from my program if I had a program. I'd ban the anti-Semites too.
Though I wonder if they were sending me 10 signups a day if I would have the moral conviction to carry through with it.

20 on left now and 20 on right.

Average left/right is 0.06
[total = 2.49, 40 scores]

Can't get any more fair and balanced than that.

No doubt about that. GFY is loaded with self-proclaimed "America-haters". We don't have any here. :rokk: :rokk:

I definately think that Oprano is fair and balanced. While I am Libertarian, leaning towards conservatives, there are many liberals here.

I have to give it to the Opranauts of the Liberal persuasion - they definately defend theri opinions and stances well. We do not have any push overs here, and we do not have morons who cannot defend their posistions or parrot what they are told on TV.

So while I may disagree with my liberal friends on Oprano, I definately respect them!!

Ok no more ass kissing!!

That's actually pretty damn cool to know!
A really interesting cross-reference (without names) would be to compare how people chart economically and what their income last year was. We could see if someone's political economic leanings has any bearings on their income.

I added my results to the mix in the other thread. One test has me South/Southeast and the other has me being a staunch Libertarian and Constitutionalist.

On the "world's shortest political quiz" I always end up as far in the Libertarian corner that you can get without actually being ON the big thick line marking the edge of the graph.

Hmm... Me thinks you might have that assbackwards....

Carrie's quote:

"We could see if someone's political economic leanings has any bearings on their income."

I believe I would look at that as

"We could see if someone's income has any bearings on their political economic leanings."

It has been my observation that as an individual (in the U.S. at least) becomes wealthier, they lean further to the right then they did before the became wealthy....

IMHO of course.....

I agree, sarettah - I think Carrie has the question backwards. And it would be useful fodder for use to argue about chicken and egg ...

not to mention the height of the chicken, the weight of the egg, the implications of the colors of the chickenshit, and the ratio of yoke to white within the egg.

Gigi I like your new avatar - my eyes thank you :)

I think you're right, Sarettah - it makes sense. A person earns more and gets bumped into a higher tax bracket, they want to start keeping more of the money they've earned!

I'm bass ackwards anyway... :moon:

Sheesh! Typical right-wing condescension!

While it's not a vast sample, this would be interesting to correlate with other social, demographic and economic factors and then to chart against people from other specific emerging or established industries.

From that you could then begin to establish how much age, wealth and status impinge on political and economic standpoints and conversely whether or not those standpoints affect what you then do for a living.
