Alex I will take a look. All sl55 engines are hand made by 1 mechanic each, and they sign the engine. It is a beautiful machine.

Mike, i think it is this month's Car and Driver... they go through the process of how they are built, etc... 493 hp, and the engine they were working on was destined for an SL55 (they also make them for and E sedan as well).. if you happen to have that engine, well, then you got a car with a slight bit more value because of "history"... :-)
