I wonder if people who want paypal payments raise red flags to fraud managers for programs....

Totally - and it's ignorant to think that you're avoiding uncle sam because PayPal is a bank and has the same reporting requirements... there is no hiding!

Getting paid via paypal is handy for those of us who live outside the US, yet have a US presence. No wire transfer fees..but none of my sponsors currently pay me that way and it's no big deal. But PayPal saves me huge hassles in PAYING my bills. All my feeds, hosting, etc. gets paid through them.

Maybe that person has a foreign PayPal account. Who knows.

Oh, and PayPal isn't legally a bank, though they may have to report like one. That's why you can't get a checking account with them.

If you live outside the US, you have to pay to cash a check/wire and you get hit with a bad exchange rate, and if it's a check, sometimes you have to wait two weeks for it to clear.

Then, when you buy content, hosting, traffic or anything else in US$ you get hit again with an exchange rate difference.

Using paypal none of that happens.

I agree. I've been able to get two Pay Pal accounts. One for subcription services, the other for paying programmers, writers, etc. I can move money between the two. All the expenses from the sites get paid from revenues. I also have a Pay Pal ATM and can use it like a credit card. It keeps track of all site related things.

I wish I could I could figure out a better affiliate program for my sites and also use Pay Pal.

PayPal is good until they limited your account access - then get ready for months of faxing, calling etc. Use it like a merhcant account - do not keep alot of more money in the account, and always be ready for them to close/limted your access without warning - then have backup ready.
