I choose:

"Common Sense" by Thomas Paine.
"Communist Manifesto" by Marx and Engels. *

Both chosen not as much for their content as their language. Incredibly well-written pieces of work.

Someone list some recent stuff. Any point of view, I don't care. I'm going book-hunting.

* No, I am far from being a communist. It is a good book though. Understandable why it has influenced so many people.

Michael Moore "Stupid White Men"

its very 'far fetched' but worth a read purely for the entertainment value

he was on oprah the other day, it was so funny watching her try not to be shocked
