It was twelve years ago today that American Forces literally were chasing the Elite Republican Guard back to Iraq.

They were in a single file line with all of the "Shit they stole" from the Kuwati people.

We took nearly all of them out and Unfortunately we hit them so hard and with so much force.........we thought it would be overkill to go into Iraq.

Now here we are again......no debate, no more inspections, irradication.

Jhen, the infamous "highway of hell" probably did help discourage us from finishing off Saddam. You had people saying it was unfair for us to wipe out the enemy is such a fashion. I guess these are the people who are protesting the war now.

We want war to be unfair, especially when its to our advatange!!!

Earlier this year some people pointed out how even GENERAL SCHWARZKOPF was against war in Iraq.

Well either he has changed his mind, or those people were wrong.

I remember a news story earlier in the year saying he was not in favor of war at the time - if that was reliable.

I remember Colin Powell saying it would be "unchivalrous" to go after the retreating Iraqi guard. Have always thought that was a great word to choose.

From article posts by Mike:

MATTHEWS: Are you for this war?

SCHWARZKOPF: Am I for the war?

MATTHEWS: As opposed to not going to war? If you had a — if you were commander-in-chief right now and you had to choose, would you go to Iraq first or would you try fight al Qaeda?

SCHWARZKOPF: Oh, I don’t think there’s any question about the fact that if we have to go to war, the place to go is against Iraq first. Al-Qaida will come later. First of all, where would you find al-Qaida? Where would you pin them down?

MATTHEWS: Do you want to go — you said if we have to go to war. Do you believe we have to-this is a necessary, therefore good war?

SCHWARZKOPF: It’s looking that way. No war is a good war.

MATTHEWS: Is it a necessary war?

SCHWARZKOPF: I think it is, yes.

Sigh.

General Schwartzkopf never said he was against action against Iraq. He was quoted, until rather recently, as saying he did not believe that President Bush had made a very good case for the war.

Oops. That sounds right.

A little review. It would have been more accurate if I had said. "There was a news story last year saying he was not in favor of war without more international support".

But let's be perfectly accurate ... “The early successes (in Afghanistan) seem to have reinforced the conviction of some within the US Government that the continuing war on terrorism is best waged outside the structures of international institutions. This is a fundamental misjudgment. The longer the war goes on . . . the more our success will depend on the willing co-operation and active participation of our allies.” - NORMAN SCHWARZKOPF (Aug, 2002)

"The Highway to Hell"

The scene was unreal was it not.

I do not no if war is the answer i know we have to take a pro-active position or the entire region will be completely unstable in three years. If war is what needs to be done to restore some form of stability.....I guess we have to do what we have to do.

I just hope that chivalry will not cut the task short this round.

Problem is, today's reporters memories are shorter than the responses to their questions.

For instance, If I say, "I don't want a war; but it is necessary to the safety of the world.", some reporter would say that I was anti-war.
On the other hand, if I say, "I want Saddam's head on a platter if that will stop the threat to America.", then I would be reported as being pro-war.
