Bad week for liberals, and it's only Tuesday. Let's see, First Saddam defies the UN (again), then that stupid lawsuit against Bush gets thrown in the garbage. Then Rosie O'Donnell shows her fat face on Donahue and the show is immediately cancelled.

:D :P  :yowsa:  :P :zoinks:

Can you believe that they got rid of Alan Keyes for that jack ass? Keyes is the best.

Buff,

Keyes, while I think he is very smart, and has alot of views on national and domestic affairs, he is to the right of Attila the hun...

Remember Donahue made talk shows what they are today. But as msnbc says, they give a show a few months and if it doesn't work out it's gone.

I found this interesting from the article on CNN about Donohue's show getting the axe:

"The political talk show format has yet to prove -- and may never -- that it can support a liberal voice, said Andrew Tyndall, head of ADT Research, a television news consulting firm. "

I wonder why that is?

I only saw the show once, and Dennis Miller was the guest. I became an instant Dennis Miller fan after seeing that. He is very intelligent and well informed, and also conservative. I thought he really crushed Donohue good during their little "debate" on the show about Iraq and other issues.

I like Dennis Miller - he is funny. Not sure I would call him conservative - maybe libertarian.... he definately has COMMON SENSE... which is rare in Hollywood these days.

I think of Dennis Miller as a conservative, personally. He's not conservative enough for many people. I guess you'd call him center-right, if you believe in such labels.

I was suprised when MS-NBC attempted to resurrect Donahue and offer him as a "liberal voice," - hell, on MSNBC John McCain would be a liberal voice - and I'm not suprised he flopped.

I don't mind ocassionally reading things written Keyes - I don't agree with him on much beyond the time of day, but I like reading it. He was just a little too full of himself for my taste. His interaction with guests was attrociously biased - even more so than the Peewee Herman look-alike (Abrams?) that does their "legal" stuff.

PD YOU would be considered conservative compaired to most Hollywood types.... they are way out of touch with reality.

Probably not. I am probably center-left. Confronted with the politics of the bobble heads parrots from from either side ("all conservatives are war pigs" or "all liberals are traitors") I seem to shift the other direction.

I have three daughters. One (the middle one) heads for the hills the minute there is a mention of politics when the family is together. My oldest daughter is a card carrying Republican who thinks her father is far too liberal for her tastes. The youngest one thinks dad is growing far too conservative as he gets older.

Man I hope we can pull it off in 2004, I haven't gave up hope yet, we shall see in the next 6-12 months where were at.

PD, Mike,

you think the dems have a good chance in 04??

Yeah I guess I should say Dennis Miller is conservative for hollywood. :)

I only caught about half of the show when he was on, but I agreed with so much of what he said, it almost made me want him to come back to Monday Night Football. Almost.

Serge, Serge, Serge ... please. I am not a liberal pussy. I am a liberal pansy. At another forum I was recently informed of this by no less an authority than that noted right-wing philospher, 12clucks.

I think I am as proud of that as being thought a communist by Torone. :D
