View Full Version : Babenet Backend Is Dead?

sharky

From what I hear, Babenet is missing checks and the backend system these other programs are using has been shut down.

did Oprano have something to do with this??

no comments on this???

All I have is hearsay.. does anyone know the real truth?

I would think that those who run the sites that use it would be disputing this post vigorously if it wasn't true... i know i would be.

LOL I love these types of threads. You get the feeling there are ten people reading it that know exactly what is going on and are laughing at those of us who don't.

From what I understand the Babenet backend goes out a lot. Both from technical issues, and of course them burning up banking relations. I have a feeling it will get back up soon when they have a new banking relation to work with.

Oprano did nothing but discuss the issues of operating under the babenet back end.

MikeAI -

It sounds like exactly what you are referring to.. Bank relations being burnt. Evereyone I speak to says it should be back up within a few weeks.

I wonder if this will effect payouts to webmasters by the companies using this backend?

Mike AI
02-18-2003, 04:00 PM
Sharky, I know that HAD to be a rhetorical question, right?

Of course if their back end is down, all the programs using it are basicly dead in the water for as long as babenet is down.

Will it take weeks? I find that hard to beleive, I was thinking more like days.... but I would be chaning out my links or whatever until that time came.

It would be nice if these companies would let theri wbemasters know there back ends are down so they do not send anytraffic to them....

Think that is happening?

sharky
02-18-2003, 04:25 PM
I mean will it effect payouts for traffic & signups sent over the last period, before babenet went down.

I have been contacted by a few of the programs who use their backend for SOME sites and have been told to not send new traffic to the sites using the backend and was sent a list of sites that were fine to use.

Mike AI
02-18-2003, 04:34 PM
Sharky were you contacted personally, or did they send e-mail to everyone?

Think every program is doing this for every webmaster?

I wonder where all the people who were defending the use of the babenet backend are? They sure were vocal last week....

So far nothing....

Its just you and I, and a bunch of people reading.... :P

*KK*
02-18-2003, 04:37 PM
While it doesn't affect me one way or another since I don't send traffic directly, I have a hard time believing that Babenet couldn't or wouldn't afford to make good on any money they owe.

Mike AI
02-18-2003, 04:41 PM
KK I was not really refering to you.

How does Babenet know how much they owe and to who if the backend is down? They cannot process any signups... I do not think that have a batch system setup. So who do they pay? how much?

If they do.... I sent 500 signups last night!!! I will take my wire.... :D

sharky
02-18-2003, 05:13 PM
MikeAI -

I was contacted through ICQ by people I deal with in 2 of those programs. I have not received a general email that looks to be sent to all affiliates.

I dont' doubt they have some sort of data backup of the signups that were sent through the system. It my understanding that the processing is down, thus shutting down the possibility of any further signups being sent through their system. However, I do not know if Babenet is paying out on the signups that were sent BEFORE their processing went down.

Was Babenet paid for the last week of signups? If not, will they pay the companies who use their back end?
If not, will those companies foot the bill for signups to keep a good name? Are they even able to financially?

WHERE do i begin.

I do not think that the previous discussion on this board caused any of this drama! rofl

Babenet will cache the data so good will prevail over evil! Also, speaking for Pie Cash and I'm sure some other Babenet backend program users, do you not think that we have back end solutions? LOL

This will not effect our webmaster payouts, I cant speak for other programs but I'm sure we have more money then you think. We're not exactly operating cheque to cheque.

And i'm sorry it took me so long to respond, someone brought Dr Guile's post directed at me to my attention. Due to the circumstances, I have a lot of work to do that didn't include posting.

Luckily I'm in Canada and only get to indulge in shooting people i mean targets while visiting the USA. Here, I carry a baseball bat.

BTW all our affiliates will be getting an email explaining the situation, but since most of you aren't affiliates of ours, should I perhaps post it here for you to read?

Any other questions, I've only posted my contact info like 5 times, sales@piecash.com icq 52624206

Or why not sign up before you keep ripping into us and see for yourself? My link is calling your mouse over click it i dare you.

Shann the rumors are that babenet owes their program operators millions, and that there might not be any payments... having their affiliates left holding the bag.

Hopefully this is not the case.

Maybe the Feds! Been a lot of them snooping around lately. I heard
they picked up a few people with close ties to hampshire and babenet.

Hampshire has always been known to hang out with wanna be mobsters.
The fact is that their is no real mafia in the porn business, just wanna
be's. The real mafia moved on to bigger and better things, they sent
the kids to college to become lawyers and cpa's and moved up to the
enrons and visa's where big money can be made by fucking honest
people.

I find it very interesting that visa is spending so much time and effort
policing the little guys in online porn when the major damage is being
done by babenet and some others. Doesn't take a brain surgeon to
figure out what's going on.

You folks that think babenet is a major operation should see the real
estate that it and VCA sit on. Major doesn't describe it, massive doesn't
either.

That visit to the gun range was quite a trip for me little canadian that I am!

I had never shot a handgun in my life (let alone a smg) and they decided a Colt 357 King Cobra would be a good start...

Pssst....yer right, we do have a plan....

So far, our underground military consists of:

Infantry:
- the 5 guys down at the John B Pub
- the John B's entire dart team (consists of 8 dart champions)
- John B's brother in law

Vehicles:
- Farmer Joe's Tractor
- Billy Bob's 4wheel Ford Truck
- Jonathan's entire fleet of dog sleds (we're still trying to convince him to put his dogs on the table)

Defense:
- The Great Wall of Beer Cans around the entire circumference of Canada, 100 cans deep, and 1000 cans high

Arsenal:
- DrGuile's handgun he smuggled back from the range.

But............you didn't hear this from me.

But Im fine with them at the gun range... no safer place to have some fun!

But like I said before, Canada already has the greatest army in the world, its called the "US Army"

Man, I haven't been to a range in years... I used to go with my dad when I was a kid and I was quite good if I do say so myself. One time "the guys" were taping dimes to the center of the targets and trying to knock them out. I was 11 and just watching... There was this one guy who had been shooting there for years and still couldn't hit the side of a barn. He asked me if I wanted to try. He put ONE bullet in the chamber, everyone stood back, and I picked up the gun knocked out the dime and put the gun back down. The guy put the gun in his case and never came back to the range again. hahaha

The only time I've shot any guns since then was one time in Phoenix my cousin had a 44 Magnum. It was the 12 inch barrel "Dirty Harry" kind... Of course none of us had hearing protection and the shot from that thing was like getting hit in the head with a hammer. I took my first shot and was NOT prepared for the amazing kick. Everyone was laughing. When I asked why they said when I pulled the trigger I was three steps ahead of where I was now standing. I didn't even realize that thing kicked me back like that. A very manly firearm indeed... :D

Hey Shann, got the e-mail from PieCash. I have to say this is one of my all time favorite e-mails I have read. I have been laughing for 5 minutes out loud. You probably should have written it, I bet you would have done a better job. I will not say anything else, do not want to ruin it for anyone else. Please make your on jokes here:

Dear Affiliates,
I’m sure you have all noticed a decline in your joins for the last few days. There was a problem with some of our cc processors but everything has now been resolved. We are testing everything right now and are confident that by tomorrow everything will be all good w/ better conversions than ever . We are also coming out with an amazing new PIECASH V2 program that will be 3 day free trials that will convert off the chart.

I do have some unfortunate news though due to the nature of this business, we are experiencing a situation out of our control. Period 1 payouts will be a little late. We have every confidence the situation will be resolved very soon. We anticipate a week or two delay at this time and ask for your trust and patience. We will update you immeadiatly , when the situation is resolved.

Unfortunately due to these circumstances, we need to temporarily lower our payouts to $30, starting on the 15th. Our conversions should drastically improve so in essence, this will end up beening a good thing and you will be making the same amount of money since you convert better. Our payouts will be raised soon, so don't fret. :) We appreciate your loyalty and patience during this time, and you will be rewarded for it in the long run.

Sincerely,
Pie cash Payout

Secondly, i like to shoot guns at people i mean targets when i go to the US b/c all you need is a piece of ID and a 10 second lesson.

Thirdly, I am hungover and bitchy and in no mood.

Lastly, yes since the 15 b/c that was the pay period. And Mike AI I guess you must have signed up since you got the affiliate email, did you send us traffic? Who do you send traffic to Mike AI? You seem to be quite concerned, are you worried about your payouts from us or someone else who uses this business model? You've spent so much time on this topic with so many other things going on, this is your major concern?

And you are correct, I did not write this email but if fucking J D Salinger wrote this email the message would be the same. I know you're not new, I'm sure this is not the first time this has happened to you regarding a delay in payouts. It's happened to me before, have you somehow managed to escape the payout delay that happens here and there? Is it beause you are Mike AI or a super hero? rofl

Now if you want to turn this into an indepth pissing match, I should have some time this afternoon.... I would love to go into depth on the pie cash, babenet issues, and of course break down that wonderful letter line by line.

I will personally make sure you get paid as soon as we issue payouts. We take care of our webmasters!

If you have some sort of personal issue with PieCash, I'd love to work it out. As far as Babenet, I dont' work there, you'd have to speak to them.

This is to inform all of our affiliates of a truly unfortunate situation has arisen. Due to circumstances beyond our control we are having problems with our credit card processor which will delay payments for the pay period 1 of February. This delay should only be 1 week. This is nothing to be to worried about as we are still processing sign-ups and have efficiently moved our credit card processing which is converting better than before. We appreciate all of your support and weathering this problem with us. We are defiantly not going to leave any affiliate unpaid and will handle this with the professional manner that we handle all of our business dealings.

I, too have wondered about that "catch all" phrase.....

if its better now, then why wasn't it done before?

Would you like to hear "due to the changes we're converting shitter than ever"! When things are changed, they are obviously changed for the better, this is a hard concept? rofl

There is only one way to find out now though isn't there?

"i bought a new car, boy is it a piece of shit"
"i dumped my g/f b/c her hummers were too awesome, my new one can't suck cock for shit"

Is this not simple logic? B)

Hi, no body can say something serious about that? Im (like a lot of webmasters)waiting for payouts from some sponsors , im my case more than 20.000$, sponsors says the dont know when are we going to be payed because they dont have any news about babenet...
anyone have any serios news about that babenet thing? are they going to pay , and more important are we (the webmasters) going to be payed ?
i think this is a big shit,if babenet has not payed to the program owners thats not my problem i have been sending my trafficc to they and i want to be payed.... i dont care who is babenet or if they have problems with their banks thats not my problem, may be some progams has to think about that and stop clamming here and there they are refutable and old companys whith a good name on this biz and when they have 1 problem they dont pay to the webmasters. Ask for acredit on your bank or do whatever but try to solvent your problems and pay to your webmasters... its very easy to say "dont worry your are going to be payed!! when babenet pays us of course...."

edited to correct my bad english :(

"we are experiencing a situation out of our control."
- that's comforting

"Period 1 payouts will be a little late. We have every confidence the situation will be resolved very soon. We anticipate a week or two delay"
- uh-oh, this isn't sounding too good

"we need to temporarily lower our payouts"
- oh fudgesicles!!

"Our conversions should drastically improve so in essence, this will end up beening a good thing"
- why was it, again, that conversions are going to improve?

I think if I got this letter, I would be pretty damn worried about sending any traffic to the sponsor.

Well most of the time i do not post but i will for the sake of a question. I am not here to piss, moan or justify. Most of the webmasters that have dealt with Matrix know what kind of company we are as well as what kind of people we are.

We are paying our affiliates regardless of the babenet outcome. This situation is only affecting the time frame. As one has stated earilier it is not the problem of the webmaster if Babenet pays out or not nor is it going to be their problem. We run a very ethical and honest company and are not going to make this the problem of the webmasters that promote our programs.

I swear if people spent as much time working as they do trying to dig up and stir shit on people, everyone would be much more productive.

If you weren't sending traffic to any of these programs and you aren't owed any money, then what does it matter to you?

I recall a few years ago when a couple of processors were having some problems with their cash flow, some sponsors paid up from their own pocket, some refused to pay until they got the money from the processor.

Bottom line is simple, if you don't think you'll get paid, don't send traffic to these sponsors. I can guess what quite a few of them are doing and I'd bet they will be on track very shortly and money will start flowing again.

From OldFold's link:

anybody knows? this was posted today at LF

As many of you may or may not know, BABENET the web's powerhuose affiliate program lost it's ability to provide backends to some of the most successful SPAM operations out there. You see many programs like PINK PAYS.COM, ORGASM.COM, and TEENIE PIE were dependent on the use of their processing for the backends of all their sites.

I have been contacted by a few of the programs who use their backend for SOME sites and have been told to not send new traffic to the sites using the backend and was sent a list of sites that were fine to use. Instead I have been told to send my traffic to PYTHON and Dollar Machine. As they convert better bulk email traffic (SPAM)

The closing down of BABENET"S backend cause quite a stir in Porn Valley and beyone because many of these spam operators weren't the brightest of people. Infact any moron who could hit a send button could use BABENT for their backend and make an easy $100,000 a month- especially when BABENT was paying $40 a webmaster? Now let's do the math....How can an affilte program ever afford to pay out $40, or $5 or $70 like SEXHIT and SILVERCASH once did... How You ask?

Double and triple billing credit cards for starters.....perhaps that's how BABENET lost it's last banking solution?

Or perhaps Rob Gould smoked the remaining assets BABENET had in a glass pipe? It's common knowledge that Rob Gould has been fighting his demons with drugs and infidelity for a while...perhaps the walls closed in ? What's the real story BABENET? Are you moving to Thailand with Seth Warshavsky????
